Abstract: Many cleaners, are extremely hard on many plastic products causing environmental stress cracking. Small household articles made from a polymer alloy of a clear brittle styrenic acrylate, a rubbery block styrene-diene copolymer, and a ductile styrene-diene polymer when exposed to such cleaners have significantly less environmental stress cracking.

Abstract: A manicure device is described which comprises an applicator stick which, at one end, has an absorbent swab tip over one end of the stick and which at its opposed end merges with an integral manicure tip. The stick is preferably formed of a composite of polymer, e.g. polypropylene, and wood chip filler, e.g., a softwood chip filler.

Abstract: A polyblend of a copolymer of an alkyl (meth)acrylate and a vinyl aromatic grafted on to a low molecular weight conjugated diolefin polymer with a terpolymer of a vinyl aromatic, an alkyl acrylate, and an alkyl methacrylate grafted on to a di- or tri-block polymer of vinyl aromatic monomers and a conjugated diolefins in a weight ratio from 10:90 to 40:60 have good flow rates and impact resistance.

Abstract: The present invention is a mouth swab which comprises a support stick having a swab mounted on at least one end thereof. The swab is impregnated with an oral treatment composition (e.g., a mouth freshening composition) and is encapsulated with a dry, saliva-soluble polymeric coating. Placement of the swab in the mouth results in dissolution of the polymeric coating by the saliva in the mouth and allows for release of the oral treatment composition into the mouth cavity. In certain preferred embodiments the product can contain either a dental floss or toothpick implement within the support stick.

Abstract: An applicator comprising a support stick having mounted on at least one end thereof a one-piece swab formed of a fibrous, non-woven material having an outer flock surface is described. The applicator is useful in the application of such cosmetics as eye shadow and eye liner.

Abstract: The present invention is an improved applicator swab which contains a resilient cushion element between the end of the applicator stick and the adherent, absorbent swab tip for the applicator swab. The presence of the cushion element, which is preferably formed of a soft, resilient hot melt adhesive, gives an added degree of protection should the end of the stick holding the swab tip protrude through the body of the tip upon being manipulated by the end user of the applicator swab.
