    Abstract: A fire retardant composition comprises an aqueous solution of at least one ammonium phosphate, an alkyl acid phosphate having from two to four carbon atoms, and a glycol having from two to four carbon atoms. The fire retardant composition is effective for treating thin cellulosic substrates, such as paper, plywood and fiberboard.
