  • Patent number: 4153354
Abstract: An animated visual effect adaptor unit for a still picture projector which has a projection gate for receiving a slide holder between a light source and a projection lens system, comprising an elongate support having a first portion to be received in the projection gate and a second portion which remains outside of the gate and carries a power drive coupled to drive rotatably, a translucent disk mounting a visual effect design across a projection aperture in the first portion and through which a light beam from the source effects projection of the disk design through the lens system and onto a projection surface to provide an animated visual effect as the disk rotates. A second stationary translucent design carrying disk may be aligned with the rotary disk for increased animation effect.

  • Patent number: 4083631
Abstract: An animated visual effect device is carried by a support such as a platform from which the device may depend, the device being adapted to be received in the projection gate of a projector between the light source and the projection lens system of the projector for projection of visual effects produced in the operation of the device, the support carrying means such as a power source, compressor, or the like, for operating the device. Visual effects may be produced by bubbling of air through differently colored viscous fluid contained in generally laminal chambers disposed for successive passage therethrough of the projection illumination.

  • Patent number: 3964194
Abstract: A sealing cap prevents viscous fluid leakage from a display device of the type adapted for producing a constantly changing completely random multi-colored effect by the action of air bubbles traveling upwardly through the fluid contained in narrow working chamber gaps between parallel light transmissive walls of the device. An illumination source is provided for transmitting light through the walls and the fluid. Bubbling air is supplied from a manifold at the lower ends of the fluid containing gaps and vents from the upper ends of the gaps. A selectively displaceable sealing cap guards against leakage from the vents when the device is shut down. A reflective surface over the outer face of the device provides an opaque appearance when it is shut down.
