    Abstract: Techniques for deploying a plurality of smallsats from a common launch vehicle are disclosed where a structural arrangement provides a load path between an upper stage of the launch and the plurality of spacecraft. Each spacecraft is mechanically coupled with the launch vehicle upper stage only by the structural arrangement. The structural arrangement includes at least one trunk member that is approximately aligned with the longitudinal axis of the launch vehicle upper stage, a plurality of branch members, each branch member being attached to the trunk member and having at least a first end portion that is substantially outboard from the longitudinal axis; and a plurality of mechanical linkages, each linkage coupled at a first end with a first respective spacecraft and coupled at a second end with one of the plurality of branch members, the trunk member or a second respective spacecraft.

    Abstract: A spacecraft with a linear extension boom, an antenna feed, and a rigid antenna reflector is provided. The rigid antenna reflector may be connected with one end of the linear extension boom, and the other end of the linear extension boom may be connected with the spacecraft main body. In a launch configuration of the spacecraft, the linear extension boom may be retracted into a stowed configuration, and in an on-orbit configuration of the spacecraft, the linear extension boom may be extended into a deployed configuration, thereby moving the rigid antenna reflector away from the yaw axis of the spacecraft and positioning the rigid antenna reflector such that the focal point of the rigid antenna reflector may be oriented to align on, and be collocated with, the antenna feed. The rigid antenna reflector may be connected with the linear extension boom by a positioning mechanism that provides for adjustment in the angular orientation of the rigid antenna reflector relative to the linear extension boom.

    Abstract: A launch vehicle includes an upper stage and an integral fairing. In a launch configuration, the integral fairing is configured to enclose, between an aft portion and a forward portion, one or more payloads. The integral fairing includes a mechanical attachment with the upper stage proximal to the aft portion, and a nose cap proximal to the forward portion and a passive venting arrangement that equalizes pressures internal and external to the integral fairing. The integral fairing is configured to permit deployment of at least one payload, while avoiding: (i) separation of the integral fairing into two or more parts, (ii) separation of the integral fairing from the upper stage, and (iii) articulation of the mechanical attachment. The upper stage may provide single stage to orbit capability.

    Abstract: A spacecraft includes an aft surface, a forward surface and a main body structure disposed therebetween, a stowage and deployment arrangement (SDA) joined to the main body structure by a first mechanical coupling, and an antenna that includes a respective feed element and a rigid antenna reflector coupled with the main body by way of the SDA. The feed element is joined to the main body structure by a second, different, mechanical coupling. The spacecraft is reconfigurable from a launch configuration, with the reflector is disposed forward of the forward surface, with its aperture plane substantially parallel to the forward surface, to an on-orbit configuration. The SDA repositions the reflector to a second position corresponding to the on-orbit configuration. In the second position, the reflector is disposed, Earth facing, substantially aft of the forward surface and outboard of the main body structure and is illuminated by the respective feed element.

A monitoring system receives information regarding the status of individual documents within these production and management process stages. A user may then select one of the stages for closer inspection of the status of documents. For the selected stage, status of individual documents is displayed.

A data pump processes the compressed journal data, extracting those parts that are of interest, and transmitting them to client applications in a format that is easily interpreted.     Abstract: An apparatus for assembling mailpieces and a method for controlling such apparatus. The apparatus includes a document feeder for feeding sets of documents to a chassis for assembly into mailpieces a constant rate. Because the number of documents varies the time to assemble a set varies and it is possible that a set may not be available when the chassis is ready to cycle; resulting in a cycle in which no mailpiece is processed. To correct for this the average number of documents for a number of mailpieces to be processed is determined and a nominal chassis speed and cycling rate are determined correspondingly. The actual chassis speed is then periodically updated to approach the nominal speed.

The inserter system inputs the control documents and assembles mailpieces in accordance with mailpiece records identified by coded information on the documents. If a damaged mailpiece is manually repaired an operator scans the coded information from the damaged mailpiece. A data processing system accesses the mailpiece record in accordance with the scanned information and updates the corresponding mailpiece record to reflect manual repair of the document.
