Abstract: A building panel includes rigid side and end transverse members secured together by diagonal bracing members. Additional transverse members span the area between the side members without being affixed thereto. Areas between the side, end and additional transverse members each contain a block of foamed plastic material while opposite faces of the panel are covered by a cladding panel.

Abstract: A device is claimed for attaching a frame to an aperture in a wall of a building, comprising a U-shaped female member having a first part of said frame, said female member having a plurality of teeth on the inner side of one limb thereof; and a co-operating male member attachable to a second part of said frame, said male member having a plurality of co-acting teeth on a portion thereof; whereby said male member is insertable into said female member so as to be irreversibly locked in relation thereto when said female and male members are attached to said first and second parts of said frame respectively and said first and second parts fitted together in conventional manner.

Abstract: A form for in-situ casting of concrete foundations is disclosed as associated with a pair of sacrificial adjuncts including elongated metal side members extending upwardly from flanges thereon and inwardly toward each other, a plurality of width control rods each having one end projecting through one flange and a second end projecting through the other flange, a series of horizontal webs joins the top sections of the metal side members; a plurality of reinforcing rods are positioned between the two metal side members and are maintained vertically and horizontally in spaced relation to each other by a plurality of horizontally spaced inverted V-shaped, reinforcing pins, each of which has a plurality of generally circular loops encircling the corresponding plurality of reinforcing rods, and a hook bolt extending from an uppermost reinforcing rod through its corresponding horizontal web to receive a retaining nut.

Abstract: A window guard assembly comprising a frame extending around three sides of a window opening and a shutter element received in the frame. The frame comprises channel sections and includes two vertical elements with a horizontal element fixed to the lower ends thereof; and with the channel sections facing one another to receive the shutter. One vertical element includes an upper section which is hinged to open its channel. The shutter comprises a lower section which slides vertically into the lower fixed frame and an upper section which slides horizontally into the upper frame when the hinged sections is opened. The shutter sections are horizontally corrugated and one section is provided with staggered leaves along its meeting edge into which the opposed edge of the other shutter section seats when installed.

Abstract: An overhanging gable structure for buildings in which the overhanging gable is supported by a series of tubular metal members which are secured within brackets that are attached to the frame of the building and disposed between the top plate of an outer wall of the building and the line of the rafters of the roof of the building.
