  • Patent number: 5942175
Abstract: A process and apparatus for molding recyclable cushions is disclosed. The cushions are molded by a process comprising filling a mold with polyester fiber clusters, encapsulating the fibers clusters with a scrim sheet or adhesive, closing the mold, advancing the mold to a heating station where hot air is forced through the mold, advancing the mold to a cooling station where cool air is forced through the mold, and subsequently releasing the molded part from the mold.

  • Patent number: 5456648
Abstract: Method and apparatus for exercise in which a preselected work input to an exercise machine that is associated with an award-granting switch triggers a reward. The input can be a particular rate of work as measured by rotational speed or linear motion or a summation of the time during which a threshold level of work was exceeded. The reward can be turning on a TV or like electrical apparatus or it can be a change in the exercise machine and regime. An exercise machine incorporating the award-granting switch is disclosed in which the reward is a change in the angle to horizontal at which the exercise is performed. This change can make the exercise harder or easier depending on the exercise protocol desired.

  • Patent number: 5454992
Abstract: A process and apparatus for molding recyclable cushions is disclosed. The cushions are molded by a process comprising filling a mold with polyester fiber clusters, encapsulating the fibers clusters with a scrim sheet or adhesive, closing the mold, rotating the mold using a rotary table to a heating station where hot air is forced through the mold, rotating the mold using the rotary table to a cooling station to cool the mold, and subsequently releasing the molded part from the mold.

  • Patent number: 4675001
Abstract: A centrifuge rotor having a base plate with a plurality of support posts mounted thereon. Each support post receives and supports the radially inner end of a sample container support element formed of a wound composite material. The outer end-turn of the support element receives and supports a sample container. The side walls of the support element are arranged to lie generally radially of the central vertical axis of the rotor.
