    Abstract: A head-mounted display may include a display system and an optical system in a housing. The display system may have displays that produce images. Positioners may be used to move the displays relative to the eye positions of a user's eyes. An adjustable optical system may include tunable lenses such as tunable cylindrical liquid crystal lenses. The displays may be viewed through the lenses when the user's eyes are at the eye positions. A sensor may be incorporated into the head-mounted display to measure refractive errors in the user's eyes. The sensor may include waveguides and volume holograms, and a camera for gathering light that has reflected from the retinas of the user's eyes. Viewing comfort may be enhanced by adjusting display positions relative to the eye positions and/or by adjusting lens settings based on the content being presented on the display and/or measured refractive errors.

    Abstract: An adjustable combination square includes a longitudinally extending blade slidably received within a slot in a head. A movable clamping member is engaged with the blade, and a biasing member acts on the clamping member to normally bias the clamping member toward an engaged position in which the blade is engaged against a surface of the slot. A manually operable pivotable actuator arrangement is carried by the head. Actuation of the pivotable actuator arrangement applies a force to the clamping member that works against the biasing member so as to selectively move the clamping member away from the engaged position to enable the blade to be moved axially relative to the head. Releasing the pivotable actuator arrangement releases the force so that the biasing member returns the clamping member to the engaged position to maintain the blade in position relative to the head.

    Abstract: The present invention provides novel markers and assays for autism based on the association of GSTP1 with prevalence for having a child or children with autism or autistic disease. The invention relates to the use and application of GSTP1 as a susceptibility marker and teratogenic allele for autism. In particular the genotype of GSTP1 at amino acids 105 and 114, corresponding to nucleotides 313 and 341 are determined. GSTP1 may be combined with other markers in methods and assays for monitoring, managing, diagnosis, prenatal diagnosis, and assessment of autism. In addition, the present invention discloses a novel method for identifying individuals who are genetically susceptible to have offspring with autism wherein the genotype of GSTP1, alone or in combination with other genetic markers or other indicators of oxidative stress, is determined.
