  • Patent number: 7566355
Abstract: A device is described which may be fashioned to be installed over an existing unprotected intermittently acting vent pipe of a building, from which malodorous internal air from bathrooms, kitchens, areas where cigar or cigarette smoking ensues and the like, are expelled. It is made from a length of pipe of slightly larger circumference than the existing vent pipe and is stably attached at its lower end to the upper end of the vent pipe. A hinged cap of the same geometric shape as the pipe but of slightly larger dimension is attached at its upper end.

  • Publication number: 20070101689
Abstract: Exhaust vent pipes of existing buildings often admit unwanted substances such as insects, dust, dirt, weather-derived moisture and airborne contaminants into the building when their exhaust function is not in use. A device for installation on such exhaust vent pipes to prevent this problem, in its simplest form comprises a pipe length of slightly larger circumference than the vent pipe, equipped at its upper end with a hinged cap and adapted at its lower end to fit over and partially jacket the upper end of the vent pipe and to be stably connected to that vent pipe. Preferably the upper end of the device is constructed so that the pipe opening is angled downward from an upper high point or fulcrum on its circumference where the hinge of the cap is attached, whereby the cap, when closed, slants downward from the hinge which may either bisect the cap or occupy one portion of the rim of a unitary cap.

  • Publication number: 20050283598
Abstract: Method and system for loading processor boot code from a serial flash memory device. A code fetch request is received from a processor, the code fetch request requesting a portion of boot code to be executed by the processor. The code fetch request is translated into a memory request providing random access to the serial flash memory device, and the memory request is sent to the serial flash memory. The portion of boot code is read from the serial flash memory device and provided to the processor.
