  • Patent number: 10267002
Abstract: In its various embodiments the claimed water current shield may be used to improve safety for a diver and/or a remotely operated vehicle (ROV) by lowering the water current shield with a crane with the louvers initially in a first position to allow water current to flow through the louvers, positioning the water current shield with hold-back rigging from an up-current side of the subsea work site, adjusting an open or closed characteristic of the louvers if drag from the water current needs to be reduced around the subsea work site, and closing the louvers to protect an object proximate the water current shield from the water current, thereby shielding divers and/or ROVs from water currents at an underwater work site. The water current shield generally comprises a frame; a predetermined set of louver assemblies operatively connected to the frame, where each louver assembly comprises one or more selectably movable louvers; and a louver mover operatively connected to each selectably movable louver.

  • Publication number: 20170130413
Abstract: In its various embodiments the water current shield may be used to improve safety for a diver and/or a remotely operated vehicle (ROV) by shielding them from water currents at an underwater work site, thereby allowing them to avoid excess fatigue from the water currents at the underwater work site. It may also extend an environmental range in which projects can proceed without facing the need to go on weather standby or off hire. The water current shield generally comprises a frame; a predetermined set of louver assemblies operatively connected to the frame, where each louver assembly comprises one or more selectably movable louvers; and a louver mover operatively connected to each selectably movable louver.

  • Publication number: 20040148244
Abstract: This invention provides methods and systems for facilitating trading of securities over a communications network. The methods and systems allow users to submit orders for trading securities with a consolidated order entry interface screen for single and multiple orders. The consolidated order interface screen provides the user with a single order entry point for submitting orders to trade securities of different types. The consolidated order interface screen, in one embodiment, provides the user with a centralized order entry point for a plurality of security trading platforms. Each of the plurality of security trading platforms may processes orders for given types of a securities, for particular types of security orders, or for particular types of users. Orders to trade securities are tested to determine if they are valid or otherwise capable of being executed. Testing may include determining whether syntax edits are required and whether business edits are required.

  • Patent number: 6769027
Abstract: The invention is directed to an architecture that includes a first queue 128, a first queue reader 148 that reads data entities in the first queue, and a first queue writer 124 that writes data entities to the first queue. The architecture is able to periodically set one or more backup administration parameters equal to administration parameter(s) associated with the first queue 128 and, when the first queue 128 is restored, copy data entities from backup storage to the first queue 128 and set the administration parameter(s) to the corresponding backup administration parameter(s).

  • Patent number: 5920570
Abstract: An arrangement for transmitting data messages from a source to a plurality of destinations. A single file set stores messages from the source, but a plurality of processes transmits the messages to the destinations. A particular destination can receive the messages by having a process for such transmission. Advantageously, the source need not have a record of the identity or number of the destinations.
