  • Patent number: 11917415
Abstract: Remote control system is disclosed. The present techniques relate to a system and a method for improving connection between two devices, e.g. to enable one device to control the other. The method comprises receiving, at a remote computing device, a request from a secondary user device to diagnose a fault with the primary user device. The request is received on a first communication channel. The method further comprises a step of connecting, in response to the request, the remote computing device with the secondary user device. This is performed by using a secure communication channel which is different to the first communication channel. The method further comprises a step of sending a command message for the primary user device from the remote computing device to the secondary user device via the secure communication channel. Any response to the command message is then received from the secondary user device via the secure communication channel. The response is used at least in part to diagnose the fault.

  • Patent number: 10829037
Abstract: A turn signal reset device for a signal switch assembly of a vehicle includes a return stalk, a tab, and an actuator. A coupler is coupled to a first end of the return stalk and is configured to couple the return stalk to a signal stalk of a signal switch assembly that is coupled to a steering column of a vehicle. A second end of the return stalk, to which the actuator is coupled, is positioned proximate to the steering column. A connector that is coupled to the tab is configured to couple the tab to the steering column so that the tab extends radially from the steering column. Activating the signal stalk positions the actuator to selectively engage the tab as the steering column rotates. The actuator is configured to actuate the signal stalk to reset the signal switch assembly to a neutral configuration.

  • Patent number: 10360507
Abstract: Disclosed systems, methods, and computer readable media can detect an association between semantic entities and generate semantic information between entities. For example, semantic entities and associated semantic collections present in knowledge bases can be identified. A time period can be determined and divided into time slices. For each time slice, word embeddings for the identified semantic entities can be generated; a first semantic association strength between a first semantic entity input and a second semantic entity input can be determined; and a second semantic association strength between the first semantic entity input and semantic entities associated with a semantic collection that is associated with the second semantic entity can be determined. An output can be provided based on the first and second semantic association strengths.

  • Patent number: 10334713
Abstract: An electrical transformer system using helical electrodes applied to a plasma. Systems and methods transform DC voltages and currents to different DC voltages and currents. Instead of using wires and iron cores similar to known transformers, the present DC to DC transformer system exploits plasma, helical electrodes, an axial magnetic field and radial magnetic field coils, with a control system to specify a radial magnetic field at the edge of a specified magnitude. A DC input voltage is applied, and an output is taken from electrodes at opposite the ends of the central apparatus. The system and apparatus contains a radial magnetic field embedded in the helical electrodes; the secondary current is taken from either solid or split (slotted) electrodes. Methods are disclosed for changing the output voltage and current relative to the input values. The system can function as either a stepup or a stepdown transformer.

  • Patent number: 10178749
Abstract: An apparatus and corresponding systems and methods for managing electric power, particularly a transformer system and method, and more specifically a transformer for direct current. An example apparatus includes a chamber configured to contain plasma. The apparatus includes input electrodes disposed at least partially within the chamber, and configured to receive a first direct current input into the chamber. The input electrodes are configured to cause the input direct current to induce motion in the plasma. Motion induced in the plasma transforms current flowing there-through. At output electrodes extend from the chamber. The output electrodes conduct a second direct current, from the induced motion in the plasma, for delivery from the chamber.

  • Patent number: 10172226
Abstract: An apparatus and corresponding systems and methods for managing electric power, particularly a transformer system and method, and more specifically a transformer for transforming direct current to alternating current. An example apparatus includes a chamber configured to contain plasma. The apparatus includes input electrodes disposed at least partially within the chamber, and configured to receive direct current input into the chamber. The input electrodes are configured to cause the input direct current to induce motion in the plasma. Motion induced in the plasma transforms current flowing there-through. Output electrodes extend from the chamber, which output electrodes may rotated in a controlled manner. The output electrodes conduct a three or one phase alternating current, from the induced motion in the plasma, for delivery from the chamber.

  • Publication number: 20180343732
Abstract: An alternating current to direct current electrical transformer system, based on helical electrodes applied to a plasma in a chamber. A three-phase AC input voltage is be applied to helically shaped electrodes in the chamber, and a DC output is taken from endcap electrodes at opposite the ends of the device. The secondary current is taken from solid or optionally split or slotted electrodes at the ends of the device. The system uses plasma, input electrodes, an axial magnetic field and a conducting wall that acts as a flux conserver for the frequency of the AC power. The system includes apparatus which contains a radial magnetic field embedded in the helical electrodes. The system also offers methods for changing the output voltage and current relative to the input values. Thus, the system can function as either a stepup or a stepdown transformer.
