  • Publication number: 20120173608
Abstract: Embodiments of the present invention provide a method, system and computer program product for automated data updating of notices in a calendaring and scheduling (C&S) system. In an embodiment of the invention, a method for automated data updating of notices in a C&S system can be provided. The method can include composing a C&S document in a C&S system executing in memory by at least one processor of a computer. The method further can include noticing different users addressed for the C&S document and adding to the C&S document a reference to variable data stored separately from the C&S document. The method yet further can include detecting a change in the variable data. Finally, the method can include transmitting notice to the different users of the change in variable data. In one aspect of the embodiment, transmitting notice to the different users of the change in variable data can include flagging the C&S document as having changed.

  • Publication number: 20120083387
Abstract: The present invention relates to (with reference to FIG. 2) a gas turbine system comprising: a gas compressor (210); an upstream heat source, e.g. a fuel cell (212), which receives gas compressed by the compressor (210) and heats the gas passing therethrough (and when a fuel cell generates electrical power); an intermediate turbine (220) which receives the gas previously heated in the upstream heat source and which is connected to and drives the compressor (210); and an output turbine (240) which receives gas output by the intermediate turbine (220). Expanded gas leaving the intermediate turbine passes to the output turbine through either or both of a downstream combustion chamber and/or a downstream fuel cell, whereby the expanded gas is reheated prior to expansion in the output turbine (240). Preferably the system is configured such that the temperature of the gas received by the output turbine (240) is higher than the temperature of the gas received by the intermediate turbine (220).

  • Publication number: 20120079761
Abstract: The present invention relates to a method of blending a multi-component blended fuel. The method comprises selecting as a starting reference a known multi-component blended fuel (e.g. a blend of gasoline and ethanol) which is in use by an internal combustion engine which operates SI or HCCI combustion. The method comprises blending an alternative fuel which can be used by the same engine without modification of the engine, including without modifying the operating regime employed by its engine management system. The alternative fuel is a blend comprising all of the components of the known fuel and an additional fuel component (e.g. methanol). The blend components are blended in proportions which give to the alternative fuel: a stoichiometric air-fuel ratio by mass or by volume substantially equal to that of the known blended fuel; and/or a lower heating valve (e.g.

Abstract: A smoking article may include a cigarette incorporated within an electrically powered aerosol generating device that acts as a holder for that cigarette. The smoking article possesses at least one form of tobacco. The smoking article also possesses a mouth-end piece that is used by the smoker to inhale components of tobacco that are generated by the action of heat upon components of the cigarette. A representative smoking article possesses an outer housing incorporating a source of electrical power (e.g., a battery), a sensing mechanism for powering the device at least during periods of draw, and a heating device (e.g., at least one electrical resistance heating element) for forming a thermally generated aerosol that incorporates components of tobacco. During use, the cigarette is positioned within the device, and after use, the used cigarette is removed from the device and replaced with another cigarette.

  • Patent number: 8019716
Abstract: A method for the automatic examination of knowledge system hierarchies is disclosed. A target TMK hierarchy is represented as a plurality of records in a database. A second TMK hierarchy (a “critic”) is constructed of tasks, subtasks, methods, procedures and actions. The critic hierarchy includes actions that retrieve and examine at least one record of the database representing the target hierarchy. The examination of the record provides a result. The result is of the form of a modification of the processing within the critic hierarchy or of the form of a report or a modification of the target hierarchy's elements, namely, tasks, methods, procedures, actions, class structures, or the relationship between the elements.
