  • Patent number: 9219460
Abstract: Embodiments described herein may involve dynamically adjusting the equalization of a playback device based on the environment in which the playback device is operating. One embodiment may involve emitting a first audio signal from a playback device, detecting, by the playback device, a second audio signal, where at least a portion of the second audio signal is a reflection of the first audio signal, in response to the detecting, determining one or more reflection characteristics, where each of the one or more reflection characteristics are based on at least the second audio signal, adjusting an equalization setting of the playback device based on the one or more reflection characteristics, and causing an audio track to play according to the adjusted equalization setting.

  • Publication number: 20150263693
Abstract: Embodiments described herein may involve dynamically adjusting the equalization of a playback device based on the environment in which the playback device is operating. An example embodiment may involve detecting, by at least one microphone, an audio signal. The example embodiment may also involve selecting a playback device environment from among two or more playback device environments based on the detected audio signal. The example embodiment may further involve identifying an audio setting corresponding to the selected playback device environment; and applying the audio setting when playing media content.

  • Publication number: 20150264509
Abstract: Embodiments described herein involve configuring a playback device based on the detection of a barrier in proximity to the playback device. One embodiment may involve receiving proximity data that includes an indication of a barrier that is proximate to a playback device; detecting that the barrier is within a threshold proximity to a first speaker of the playback device based on the indication of the barrier proximate to the playback device; in response to the detecting, setting a playback configuration of the playback device; and causing the playback device to play an audio content according to the playback configuration.

  • Publication number: 20150163596
Abstract: Methods and systems are provided for adjusting a crossover frequency between a plurality of audio speakers rendering audio content. In one example, a first subset of a plurality of audio speakers may be rendering a first sub-range of a range of audio frequencies of an audio content, and a second subset of speakers of the plurality of audio speakers may be rendering a second sub-range of the range of audio frequencies. In this example, the first sub-range and the second sub-range may be substantially separated at the crossover frequency. In one case, a characteristic of the audio content may be determined, and the crossover frequency may be adjusted based on the determined characteristic to help improve the audio content rendering quality by the respective subsets of audio speakers in the plurality of audio speakers.

In this example, the first sub-range and the second sub-range may be substantially separated at the crossover frequency. In one case, a playback volume at which the audio content is being rendered may be adjusted. In one instance, the crossover frequency may be adjusted in response to the volume adjustment to improve the audio content rendering quality by the respective subsets of audio speakers in the plurality of audio speakers.

  • Patent number: 7246271
Abstract: An improved method and system for diagnosing faults of a system under test is provided. One or more candidate diagnoses potentially responsible for observed testing failures are generated. Each candidate diagnosis is then assigned a weight based in part on any of a number of factors not previously considered in the weighting process, thus making the weighting process more accurate. In one case, the weight of a diagnosis may be based on the combined consistent utilization of the candidate diagnosis across all failing system tests. Alternately, or in addition, that weight may be based on the combined utilization of the diagnosis among all passing system tests. Other potential factors may also be used.

  • Patent number: 4741013
Abstract: A method and apparatus are disclosed for performing in-bath filming during extracorporeal shock wave lithotripsy. The device has a holder for slidably receiving a film cassette and a grid therein. The holder has means for slidably mounting the holder on the image intensifier portion of an x-ray fluoroscope so that forces on the front of the holder can be transferred to pressure sensing means on the intensifier. The holder is constructed in a water-tight manner so that the film contained in the holder may be delivered beneath the level of water in the bath adjacent the abdomen of the patient in the bath. An inflatable bladder is provided on the outside of the holder to displace water from the area between the holder and the abdomen to prevent absorption and scattering of the x-rays by water in the area between the holder and the patient's abdomen.
