Publication number: 20180154211Abstract: A system and method for calibrating an inertial motion sensor attached to an article of sports equipment or to a body segment in accordance with the user's initial orientation and location at the beginning of a sports motion. The sensor captures real-time motion data and the calibrated initial orientation and location provide absolute heading angle and starting position of the equipment or body segment in a spatial frame. Subsequent motion data within the spatial frame can be accurately analyzed so that three dimensional trajectory of the equipment or body segment can be precisely determined and presented in an animated playing environment on devices such as smartphones, tablets and laptops.Type: ApplicationFiled: October 6, 2017Publication date: June 7, 2018Applicant: Diamond Kinetics, Inc.Inventors: William H. Clark, Minmin Zhang, Michael Ressler

Patent number: 5687970Abstract: A gameboard includes a plurality of top-slotted, intersecting channels to define a grid of tracks for movement of playing pieces along and between the tracks. Each of the playing pieces includes a head projecting from the channel and a base within the channel. The head and base are interconnected by a neck having a collar so as to expand its cross section over a portion of its length. The neck passes through the slot to allow free movement of the piece along the tracks and inhibit removal of the piece from the plane of the gameboard. The collar is seated within the track intersections to restrict movement of the piece out of the intersections.Type: GrantFiled: July 3, 1996Date of Patent: November 18, 1997Inventor: William H. Patent number: 5683089Abstract: A board game for two players includes a board with a rectangular grid of discrete playing positions denoted thereon to form a central playing zone, and a line of discrete scoring positions denoted thereon to form a scoring zone on each end and each side of the playing zone. Each scoring position is marked with a number denoting its value. A set of game pieces is provided for each player, and the pieces are marked with numbers to denote values corresponding to scoring position values. The opposing end scoring zones comprise starting zones, and the pieces are initially placed on like-valued positions within each starting zone. The allowed movement of a piece on each turn is dictated by its value, with the object being to place each piece in a like-valued scoring position in a side zone or in the scoring zone opposite the starting zone. A game ends when one player has all his pieces so positioned, and a point score is awarded each player in relation to the value of each piece in a scoring position.Type: GrantFiled: July 26, 1996Date of Patent: November 4, 1997Inventor: William H. Patent number: 4625302Abstract: An improved method and apparatus for gathering seismic data in a region covered by a body of water. Gas bubbles are formed in a zone of water adjacent a streamer containing hydrophones to form an acoustic lens for refracting acoustic waves which have reflected from the sea floor or subfloor geologic structures. This zone reduces the amount of noise at the hydrophones due to multiple reflections of sound between the water surface and floor. In the preferred embodiment, a pair of perforated gas dispensing tubes are towed from a seismic vessel. The tubes are maintained in a fixed position relative to the streamer generally above and on opposite sides of the streamer by a pair of paravanes, one attached to each tube. A gas compressing means aboard the vessel supplies gas to the tubes. The gas then escapes through the perforations in the tubes to form the zone.Type: GrantFiled: October 24, 1983Date of Patent: November 25, 1986Assignee: Exxon Production Research Co.Inventor: William H. Patent number: 4144216Abstract: A mixture of a hydroxyl endblocked polydimethylsiloxane, ethylpolysilicate, monoorganotriacetoxysilane, organotin carboxylate, an extending filler and organic solvent provides dispersions which cure to silicone elastomers at room temperature. These compositions have long storage life and can be made into compositions which are storable for extended periods of time in a single container if kept under substantially anhydrous conditions. These compositions can be prepared extrudable or sprayable, are pigmentable, have high strengths, and are readily prepared.Type: GrantFiled: May 19, 1975Date of Patent: March 13, 1979Assignee: Dow Corning CorporationInventors: William H. Patent number: 4103304Abstract: An instantaneous, omnidirectional direction finding system for locating an incoming wave over a complete 360.degree. arc in space employing a circular antenna array and a fixed phase shifting network for deriving from said array a differently time phase shifted signal for each different spatial direction. The array observes all spatial directions continuously, as opposed to a sequential angular scanning technique. In a preferred system, the phase shifting network provides a plurality of output modes wherein the incoming wave is defined by different phase displaced signals that are compared and quantized to obtain a digital code representing direction.Type: GrantFiled: April 20, 1973Date of Patent: July 25, 1978Assignee: Litton Systems, Inc.Inventors: Fred E. Patent number: 4073166Abstract: A device for opening locks with magnetically actuated tumblers or pins is provided with a housing of non-magnetizable composition and a plurality of interlocking gear wheels, pivotably retained in the housing, and also constructed from materials not susceptible to permanent magnetization. The gear wheels are pierced by a plurality of orifices across their thickness and cylindrical permanent magnets are inset into each orifice with a substantially random distribution of their North and South poles with respect to the faces of the wheels. Means are provided to rotate the wheels simultaneously around their pivot axes, thereby generating a changing, random distribution of magnetic fields arising from the interaction of the inset permanent magnets.Type: GrantFiled: January 3, 1977Date of Patent: February 14, 1978Inventor: William H. Patent number: 3957714Abstract: Mixing under substantially anhydrous conditions, below 60.degree.C. and under shear conditions which do not substantially alter filler structure, 100 parts by weight of a hydroxyl endblocked polydimethylsiloxane, 70 to 150 parts by weight of a finely divided agglomerated precipitated acicular calcium carbonate, 35 to 200 parts by weight of organic solvent, from 12 to 20 parts by weight of monoalkyltriacetoxysilane and a catalytic amount of an organotin carboxylate, a curable mixture which is storable under anhydrous conditions is obtained. Exposing this curable mixture to atmospheric moisture and allowing the organic solvent to evaporate provides a cured coherent solid elastomeric material which is paintable with at least one type of decorative organic base paint which forms a continuous coating over the surface and adheres thereto. Silicone rubber compositions are also described which cured to elastomers having paintable surfaces.Type: GrantFiled: May 19, 1975Date of Patent: May 18, 1976Assignee: Dow Corning CorporationInventors: William H. Patent number: 3938681Abstract: A vertically swingable boom is provided with a downwardly opening grappling fork having horizontally swingable tines that are operated in unison by mechanism reciprocable vertically across the outer end of the boom. Power is supplied to the mechanism via a vertically swingable rocker and a fluid pressure piston and cylinder assembly lying along the boom and having a ram coupled with the rocker that reciprocates toward and away from the fork. Special geometrical and tolerance relationships between the tines and the plunger mechanism permit certain of the tines to move more deeply into the grappled load than others if disproportionate resistances are encountered, all without subjecting the fork, the connecting mechanism, and the ram to excessive bending forces.Type: GrantFiled: April 8, 1974Date of Patent: February 17, 1976Assignee: Hesston CorporationInventors: Max E. Bennett, James Edson McCanse, Gordon L. Lawson, William H. Clark
