  • Patent number: 10646669
Abstract: Systems and methods are disclosed for delivering medication to a patient. One such system has an aerosol generator for aerosolizing medication. The generator is located outside the airway of a patient. A chamber is provided for receiving aerosolized medication from the generator. The system has a carrier gas supply tube for delivering carrier gas to the chamber, and an aerosol delivery tube for receiving the aerosolized medication and the carrier gas from the chamber. The aerosol delivery tube delivers the aerosolized medication to the patient. A distal end of the aerosol delivery tube is positioned inside the airway of the patient in order to discharge the aerosolized medication within the patient's airway.

  • Publication number: 20080005224
Abstract: A system of enclosures or units each including a plurality of electronic guide devices in which the guide devices are stored, indexed, maintained, and selectively vended from a microprocessor controlled vending machine. The customer uses the guide device while traversing an area of interest to provide facts, history, stories, destination information, entertainment, and other relevant information. The units communicate with one another to maximize the efficiency of delivering fully operational guide devices.

  • Patent number: 6129934
Abstract: The present invention relates to the method of using a composition of matter that maintains the biophysical and physiological characteristics of natural surfactant, including the rapid and spontaneous adsorption of dilute suspensions to an air-liquid interface; the generation of low surface tension (<2.1 mN/m) at a surface area compression of 50% by the pulsating bubble method of Enhorning; and the restoration of greater than 75% of the lost volume of a surfactant deficient lung as determined by the method of Bermel. The material is produced by adding disaturated phospholipid to the extract of surface active material obtained by lavage of the air space of the lungs of animals. The material contains 90-96% phospholipid, 0-6% cholesterol, and 1-3% protein. Greater than 99% of the protein is lung surfactant apoproteins B & C. A sterile pharmaceutical preparation of the surface active material can be used for treating diseases caused by deficiency or dysfunction or natural lung surfactant.

  • Patent number: 5014961
Abstract: A snow plow support stand provides for the storage of a vehicle attachable snow plow assembly when the plow assembly is not in use. The support stand may be adjusted to support the arms of the plow assembly at the proper height to allow the vehicle operator to position the vehicle for the attachment of the plow assembly without additional assistance. A guide rod may also be adjusted, enabling a single operator to precisely position the vehicle for the attachment or detachment of the plow to or from the vehicle. The support stand provides for adjustment to compensate for different vehicle and plow combinations, and is sufficiently small and light that a single person may place the stand in the bed of a pickup truck or the like which may be used as a snow plow vehicle, and transport the stand to another location at which it may be desired to leave the plow assembly.

  • Patent number: 4993514
Abstract: A ladder safety device includes a carrier structure capable of attachment to a ladder so as to carry the feet of the ladder. The carrier structure incorporates fixedly mounted first interconnect device, ground-engaging feet devices, and linkage arrangement connected to the ground-engaging feet devices and includes a second interconnection which is capable of releasably interconnecting with the first interconnect device to enable verticality of a ladder when the ground-engaging devices engage an inclined surface. Rigidity between the ground-engaging devices and the carrier structure is provided by interconnection of the first and second interconnect devices.
