  • Patent number: 6488899
Abstract: A high velocity absorber has a lower larger diameter tank section for receiving a slurry at a liquid level in the. tank section, an upper smaller diameter absorber section where liquid scrubbing agent is mingled with flue gas from which impurities are to be absorbed, and a low pressure drop inlet assembly having a transition structure between the tank section and the absorber section for closing a gas flow path and a liquid flow path between the tank section and the absorber section. An inlet housing is connected to and communicates with the transition structure for inlet of flue gas into the transition structure between the tank section and the absorber section.

  • Patent number: 6267358
Abstract: A low pressure drop inlet arrangement for an absorber having straight walls has a perforated tray positioned above the gas inlet opening between the walls of the absorber. A ring around the outer edge of the tray lacks perforations, or the perforations are covered. A drip ledge may be positioned on the bottom of the tray around the inner edge of the non-perforated ring. Baffles are positioned over the tray as well. The baffles may extend between the walls of the absorber, or they may only occupy the space over the perforations in the tray and the size of the tray perforations may be varied to control the overall pressure drop. An absorber made in accordance with the invention experiences a low pressure drop at the gas inlet opening.

  • Patent number: 4410221
Abstract: A tamper resistant dispenser for rolls (18) such as paper towels or toilet tissues comprising side walls 11 having apertures 24 and 25 for manipulating the rolls past the resilient obstruction 22 into the dispensing position adjacent the opening 14. The flanges 23 prevent internal rotation of rolls in the container and flanges 21 prevent removal of rolls 18 from the container. The braking indentations 27 prevent the rapid unwinding of the paper web from the rolls 18.

  • Patent number: 4350845
Abstract: An apparatus having a plurality of time delays for providing simulated reverberation of an electrical signal representative of sound is disclosed. The time delays are chosen so that delay times of initially delayed signals and reflected signals are logarithmically evenly spaced. One arrangement is adapted for driving a plurality of amplifiers of a multiple channel amplifier system by dividing the time delays into a plurality of groups responding to the plurality of amplifiers, and then connecting the groups of time delays to the amplifiers. A different group of time delays can drive each amplifier.
