    Abstract: A device for maintaining a fishing rod in a preselected location, while permitting free pivotal movement of the rod, to a limited extent, in both horizontal and vertical planes. A further feature of the device resides in the fact that the rod can be instantly released from the holder merely by lifting it by the handle out of contact therewith.
