  • Patent number: 7081728
Abstract: An induction motor system comprising an induction motor, equipped with a heat recovery and water pumping apparatus and an apparatus for controlling the electrical efficiency and resulting heat generation of the induction motor. The motor is adapted to be coupled to an AC source for supplying an AC signal. The controlling apparatus includes a switching device, user controls and optional inputs. The switching device is connected in series with the motor and is operative in either a high impedance state wherein significant current flow through the motor is prevented or a low impedance state wherein current flow through the motor is substantially undisturbed. The user controls provide motor operational input signals. The optional inputs provide setpoint and sensed water temperature input signals.

  • Publication number: 20010047251
Abstract: The computer aided design (CAD) system for interactively designing three dimensional models for architectural projects operates on a client-server model in a distributed network, such as the Internet. The server first elicits general project information from the client, then prompts the client for detail project information through a scripting process, preferably using voice recognition software. As components are added to the project, an expert knowledge system reviews the model against heuristic rules and for conflicts with component manufacturer specifications and building codes. The server then creates a 3-D model. The client can take a virtual walk through of the model, making any desired revisions. Upon completion, the server provides the client with a 3-D CAD model, two dimensional CAD drawings in plan, elevation and section as desired, and completed construction schedule specifications, budget, and other documentation.

  • Patent number: 5600997
Abstract: A carrier frequency based system employs a capacitive probe which is located at a predetermined desired fluid detection level in a fluid containing vessel. The probe forms one plate of a capacitor where the other plate is formed by the fluid in which the probe is immersed. A carrier frequency is injected into the fluid by means of a suitable oscillator and at a frequency which is close to the system resonant frequency. When the probe is immersed in fluid, the probe will receive a predetermined carrier frequency of an amplitude determined by the system. The output of the probe is coupled to suitable sensing circuits which monitor the amplitude of the signal frequency coupled to the probe. When the fluid level recedes and therefore a portion of the probe or the total probe is out of fluid, the capacitance of the system changes.

  • Patent number: 5339804
Abstract: An ultrasonic bathing system comprising a bathtub for containing a bathing fluid, an ultrasonic transducer mounted on said bath, means for energizing said transducer to generate ultrasonic waves in the bathing fluid at a power and frequency for providing a mechanical cleaning action, and means for pulsing said energizing means to provide bursts of constant amplitude waves having a mark-space ratio dependent on the required power level.
