    Abstract: The disclosure relates to a fuel injector for an internal combustion engine and, more particularly, to a fuel injector for a compression-ignition type engine. The fuel injector precisely meters fuel and accurately times the start and duration of fuel injection in response to an electrical signal that is a composite of a multiplicity of engine and environmental operating parameters as opposed to a fuel pressure threshold.
