  • Patent number: 8304011
Abstract: Dehydrated potato pellets are made by preparing an aqueous mixture of dried potato pieces, an emulsifier, and oil, and, optionally, a freshly cooked potato, homogenizing the mixture to produce a pumpable, flowable aqueous dispersion, mixing the dispersion with more dried potato pieces and, optionally, freshly cooked potatoes, forming the mixture into pellets, and drying them.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: August 11, 2011
Date of Patent: November 6, 2012
    Assignee: Basic American, Inc.

  • Patent number: 4286578
Abstract: A solar energy absorbing panel is provided which may be integrally incorporated into a conventional building structure so that it does not protrude from the normal contour of the building, and which utilizes components of the building structure as a part of the collecting apparatus to thereby minimize the cost thereof. The panel is composed of a plurality of interconnected side-by-side, generally U-shaped sections, with the adjacent sides of adjacent sections forming parallel fins which facilitate transfer of heat to air passed therealong. Also, slot means are provided at one end edge of the panel which is adapted to receive the other end edge of another like panel therein, whereby the panels may be joined in an end-to-end arrangement.

  • Patent number: 4269171
Abstract: A solar energy collecting apparatus which is integrally incorporated into a conventional building structure so that it does not protrude from the normal contour of the building, and which utilizes components of the building structure as a part of the collecting apparatus to thereby minimize the cost thereof. The collecting apparatus includes solar energy absorptive panels which are adapted to be mounted between the conventional support members in the wall or roof of a building, and wherein the absorptive panels and support members define in part an air passageway, whereby air may be passed along the absorptive panel to absorb heat therefrom. The inlet of the passageway has provision for admitting predetermined relative quantities of outside and inside air, and the outlet of the passageway communicates with a plenum chamber inside the building so that the heated air from several such passageways may be efficiently collected and utilized.
