  • Patent number: 4531030
Abstract: An electrical switch comprises an electrical contact assembly which includes a dielectric frame in which a series of aligned stationary contact members are disposed. Electrical contact sections of the stationary contact members are exposed in recesses in a top surface of the dielectric frame. A movable electrical contact member is pivotally mounted on one of the contact sections in each of the recesses to electrically connect the stationary contact sections in one position and to disconnect the contact sections in another position. A housing is latchably secured onto the dielectric frame and has linearly-movable actuating members mounted therein in operative association with respective movable contact members. Each of the linearly-movable actuating members comprises a slide member in which a spring is disposed.

  • Patent number: 4523064
Abstract: A snap action switch comprises stamped and formed stationary electrical contact members and a spring blade contact member. The stationary contact members and the spring blade contact member are secured in respective dielectric housing sections that are secured together forming a housing member with the planar free end of the spring blade contact member in electrical contact with one of the stationary contact members while the other end of the spring blade contact member is secured in its housing section. The other end of the spring blade contact member and the stationary contact members extend exteriorly of the housing member and are in the form of post sections for insertion into holes of a printed circuit board. The spring blade member has an arcuate compression member which, when the spring blade member is unstressed, extends out of the plane of the blade member and tension members on each side of the compression member which are located substantially in the plane of the blade member.

  • Patent number: 4506124
Abstract: A push-push switch comprises a dielectric housing in which electrical contact members are secured; contact sections of the contact members are in normal electrical engagement and terminal sections of the contact members are to be electrically connected to conductive members. An actuating member is mounted in the housing for reciprocal and rotational movement therein; a spring biases the actuating member to a normal rest position. Cam members on the actuating member engage the contact members in one position to disengage them and are out of engagement with the contact members in another position causing them to be normally engaged.

  • Patent number: 4496802
Abstract: A single in-line package switch comprises a dielectric frame along which movable electrical contact members are disposed. An electrical bus contact is mounted on support members of the dielectric frame, each of the movable contact members extending between a pair of the support members. Each of the movable contact members has a sinusoidal contact section, one end of the contact section being secured in the dielectric frame as a terminal section while the free end of the contact section is disposed within a recess of an actuating member pivotally mounted on the pair of support members between which the contact section is disposed.

  • Patent number: 4268728
Abstract: A nine position circuit board mounted switch is disclosed for encoding the frequency output of a remote transmitter. Each switch position includes a manual selector set to provide a voltage output selected from two available voltage levels. The nine positions thereby provide an encoded output selected from three to the ninth power possibilities.

  • Patent number: 4152565
Abstract: A miniature switch of the type having a housing containing a planar circuit with electrical leads projecting outwardly of the housing for pluggable connection includes a manually slideable carriage having contacts which selectively engage the circuit. The carriage is inertially balanced to withstand accidental displacement or damage when subjected to mechanical shock and vibration.

  • Patent number: 4136268
Abstract: The disclosure relates to a manual switch having a lever positioned in opposition to a resilient coiled return spring anchored to a block which includes a projection engaging one of the coils of the return spring and thereby detaining either compaction or expansion of the spring until sufficient pivoting of the lever forces the detained coil to suddenly slidably traverse over the projection of the block to provide an audible noise and a tactile feel indicating sufficient pivoting of the lever.

  • Patent number: 4131982
Abstract: The disclosure relates to a tool for storing and assembling conductive contact elements into a miniature pin board, the tool including an elongate body having a lengthwise supply chamber communicating with open ends of the body. One open end is formed into a resiliently expansible throat which allows dispensing of individual contact elements. The opposite open end of the body is provided with resilient fingers having jaws which are biased toward each other to grip and remove a contact element from the pin board.

  • Patent number: 4125309
Abstract: A miniature matrix is provided by coplanar conductive strips in a first row overlaid by a second row of coplanar strips. Both rows of strips are embedded within a molded substrate of elastomeric material which is sufficiently rigid to maintain the rows in spaced relationship. A plurality of recesses are provided in the substrate and are arranged in columns and rows. Each recess exposes a conductor in the first row and a conductor in the second row where such conductors cross each other. A conductive pin is inserted into a selected aperture to engage the corresponding exposed conductors, thereby making a cross point connection. The elastomeric material encircling the selected recess is elastically expanded upon insertion of the pin and exerts a resilient and residual retention force on the pin biasing the same into positive electrical contact with the cross point connected conductors.
