The method also includes providing disabling of one or more features of the mobile device for other users, and based on the biometric sensor(s) sensing an other user using the mobile device, automatically disabling the feature(s) of the mobile device, while allowing selected content on the mobile device loaded by the user to continue to be displayed or played on the mobile device for the other user. Disabling the feature(s) of the mobile device may include automatically placing the mobile device in a locked state to block any mobile device notifications, and to prevent the other user from interacting with the mobile device.

    Abstract: A modulator motor and drive unit for use in an electrical device, such as a hand food mixer, wherein the motor is characterized by a low-cost speed control which is capable of providing a large number of discrete motor speeds. The speed control, rather than utilizing a multi-contact switch connected to the field coil by individual taps, has approximately twenty field coil continuous loop taps wound over a bobbin spindle in side-by-side relationship with a wiper contact being slideably movable relative thereto along a path from which the insulation has been removed. Positions of the wiper contact may be determined by replaceable detent elements provided with different detent patterns providing different series of motor speeds whereby the same motor and drive module may be provided within a suitable housing(s) for the economical production of several different models of such electrical devices having differing speed selections.

    Abstract: In food-mixing apparatus comprising a driving unit and an arm, a latching and pivoting mechanism is adapted to be latched automatically so as to prevent relative movement of the arm and a console of the driving unit upon pivotal movement of the arm either to a lowered position or a raised position, and so as to prevent relative movement of the arm and the console, except for pivotal movement of the arm, upon pivotal movement of the arm to a pivotal position therebetween. The mechanism is adapted to be unlatched manually so as to permit pivotal movement of the arm from any pivotal position, and so as to permit the arm to be removed from the console upon further movement of the arm from the raised position.

    Abstract: A food mixer having a stand with a mixer head pivotally mounted thereon for mixing foods is disclosed herein. The mixer includes means for cooling a drive assembly by drawing air in through a forward portion of the head and exhausting it out a bottom portion of the stand. The mixer is provided with a locking latch interconnecting the head and the stand in order to mix or knead properly heavy or viscous foods, such as bread dough. A pair of dough hooks, which are adapted to force dough away from the head during kneading, are detachably connectable to the head. A high outer wall turntable is rotatably supported on a base of the stand by a peripheral thrust bearing to provide a stable platform for a mixing bowl. Each mixing bowl used with the mixer has the same diameter bottom and lower contour regardless of bowl volume. A mechanical governor is connected to an electronic control to provide accurate motor speed regulation throughout the range of motor speed operation.

    Abstract: Apparatus for precipitating dust from a region surrounding an area from which dust emanates. The apparatus includes a fluid supply conduit for carrying water under pressure to the region adjacent the dust, area, a proportioning pump for injecting a preselected quantity of a surfactant into the water, and nozzles on the conduit adjacent the dust emanating region. The mixture of water and surfactant is atomized and sprayed from the nozzles in a curtain of finely dispersed spray, or fog, adjacent the dust region. The substantially continuous curtain of finely dispersed spray surrounding the dust region acts to precipitate dust particles from the air. The mixture of a surfactant with the water allows the water to easily wet the dust particles, whereby smaller quantities of water may be used with improved dust precipitation occurring.
