  • Publication number: 20050190280
Abstract: A digital camera and related methods enable a scrolling slideshow of captured images across a display screen. The display screen can be the digital camera's display screen or an external display screen (e.g., a TV screen or a computer monitor) driven by the digital camera. The number of images scrolled across a display screen can be adjusted for ease and efficiency of viewing based on user preference. The camera provides controls for image scrolling including speed adjustment, forward scrolling, reverse scrolling, scroll pausing, and scroll resuming. The camera permits images to be locked in place on the display screen during the scrolling slideshow, which provides for easy comparison with other images that continue to scroll across the display screen. When an image is locked, scrolling images appear to scroll to a position behind the locked image.

  • Publication number: 20050157207
Abstract: A digital camera is built having a still mode and a video mode. The camera is configured to control two different light sources. When the camera is in still mode, it is configured to fire a strobe during capture of the image. When the camera is in video mode, it is configured to turn on a continuous light source during capture of the video. These two different light sources may be combined into a single unit or may exist as separate devices. In video mode, a partial depress of the shutter control may turn on the continuous light source prior to exposure, allowing the light source to stabilize before video capture begins.

  • Publication number: 20050143931
Abstract: Methods are provided for non-targeted processing of hyphenated chromatographic data, such that even when the data represent a complex mixture of unknown components, a comprehensive number of the components are detected with minimal information loss and introduction of error. Processing hyphenated chromatographic data by the present methods is compatible with use of subsequent algorithms for chromatographic information extraction, and enhances the accuracy of a subsequent peak/component picking program. The present methods comprise subjecting data collected using a hyphenated chromatographic technique like GC-MS or LC-MS, i.e., data having a continuous or non-discrete dimension (e.g., mass), to an algorithm that organizes the data into discrete groups (clusters) of the continuous dimension. Grouping using the present methods results in consecutive clusters of continuous dimensions having varying width less than or equal to that of the instrument resolution window.
