Abstract: Systems and methods for generating electricity from the waves of a body of water are provided. Generally, the system comprises apparatus that includes at least two tanks and a turbine that is situated intermediate conduit structure that interconnects the two tanks. The cresting of a wave that impinges upon the apparatus fills one of the tanks. This water is directed through a turbine and generator assembly while flowing between the tanks. • Publication number: 20160048385
Abstract: A method and an apparatus for configuring a software application. First a context retrieving unit retrieves a context of a software application, the context comprising one or more qualifiers. Then a comparing unit compares the one or more qualifiers with nodes of a decision tree for determining a configuration identifier for the software application. Based on the determined configuration identifier a configuration value retrieving unit retrieves one or more configuration values for the software application. In order to generate the necessary decision tree, a configuration identifier determining unit determines one or more configuration identifiers associated to configuration values for a software application. An associating unit then associates the determined one or more configuration identifiers with nodes of the decision tree. The resulting decision tree is stored in a storage unit.

  • Publication number: 20070044213
Abstract: The present invention provides for sanitary use of public toilets. By using this device, women, children and disabled persons will no longer subject themselves to using unsanitary public toilets. The user holds the urination opening under the urine stream. The urine is collected in the device and flows through the neck of the device and out the exit port. This device, which is preferably funnel shaped, consists of a semi-rigid biodegradable layer sandwiched between a tissue layer and a semi-permanent water barrier layer, can be flushed down the toilet immediately after use. After use and prior to flushing the user can use the tissue layer to clean the user's genitalia. The device can also be used in the collection of urine samples without exposing the user hands to the urine stream or spray.

  • Publication number: 20070039568
Abstract: A fuel-fired water heater has main and pilot burners disposed in its combustion chamber. All of the primary combustion air utilized by the main and pilot burners during firing thereof is supplied thereto via an enclosed path extending to the burners from outside of the combustion chamber. A burner clogging detection system is operative to shut down further combustion, upon sensing a condition of the pilot burner flame indicative of a predetermined degree of pilot burner clogging, prior to the main burner being clogged to an unacceptable degree by particulate matter entrained in incoming combustion air being delivered to the main burner. The pilot burner may be mounted on the main burner in a variety of locations thereon.

  • Publication number: 20060173726
Abstract: The present invention provides an on-line computer systems (herein defined to include software) that includes processes, technologies, facilities to manage comprehensively a “project.” Management defined as spanning the time from the idea or inception that inspired the project to the resulting products' or processes' ends-of-life. The system provides a central data depository for data and information generated or gleaned from others that bear on any and all aspects of a “project.” Common metrics, vocabularies, forms and other such data facilitates review, approval and management from all corporate functions. Hierarchical access to current stored information and condensed summaries allows timely decisions by upper corporate management. The present system facilitates analyses at detailed levels, or at overall levels, and includes comparisons to past projects and for collecting cumulative information that measure the overall impact of the projects past and present.

  • Publication number: 20060080553
Abstract: Methods and apparatus that may be utilized to reduce latency associated with encryption based on externally stored security metadata are provided. When encrypted data is accessed for the first time, a cache line containing corresponding metadata used for decryption may be placed in an internal security metadata cache. If that data is accessed again, it may be retrieved without accessing external memory, thus reducing latency. Further, if adjacent data is accessed, the cached line may contain sufficient metadata to decrypt the adjacent data. As a result, a separate operation to access metadata for the adjacent data may be avoided, thus reducing latency.
