    Abstract: Apparatus for signalling the position of a point on a surface divided into a plurality of identical subsidiary areas includes primary transducer means operable to identify uniquely the subsidiary area in which the point is located, and secondary transducer means representing the sub-divisions of a single subsidiary area. The primary and secondary transducer means may each be represented by a rectangular matrix of light-emitting devices which may be scanned sequentially by scanning means.
