  • Publication number: 20230072332
Abstract: There is provided a terminal for an electrical power cable that includes a conductive clip, a terminal block, and a set screw. The clip resides in the terminal block and includes a plurality of openings sized to receive low voltage connectors, such as spade connectors. The openings in the clip are arranged to organize the spade connectors and their respective pigtail connections. The location and orientation of the clip and the spade connectors is such that, when the set screw is installed in the terminal block, force is applied by the set screw onto the clip. The clip compresses and secures the spade connectors to the terminal block.

  • Publication number: 20220006233
Abstract: Disclosed is an auxiliary contact assembly for an industrial connector, such as an electrical plug and electrical receptacle. The receptacle has a line side contact assembly formed by a cavity elongated in a proximal direction with an open distal end, and a plurality of inner side surfaces. A plurality of line side contacts are arranged on the inner side surfaces of the cavity. At least two of the line side contacts are on separate non-adjacent inner side surfaces at a first distance from the distal end of the cavity and at least one of the plurality of line side contacts is on an intervening inner side surface between the separate non-adjacent inner side surfaces and at a second distance from the distal end so that the contacts are staggered along the length of the cavity. The plug includes a load side contact assembly formed by a support body having a plurality of outer side surfaces that is elongated in the proximal direction.

  • Patent number: 10971855
Abstract: A latch assembly is provided in a receptacle in a pin-and-sleeve type electrical connector used to capture a plug of the pin-and-sleeve electrical connector. The latch assembly has a housing with a cover, a plurality of latches and a corresponding plurality of latch lever arm extending from a latch lever, such that pivotable movement of the latch lever is translated to rotational movement of the latches between a plug capture position and a plug release position.

  • Patent number: 10868394
Abstract: An illuminated power receptacle includes a base having at least one set of contacts for receiving a plug. Each set of contacts having at least two openings for receiving a respective prong of a plug. There is a cover mounted on the base with an outlet member corresponding to each set of contacts. Each outlet member includes an outlet face with an opaque material and an outer periphery. Each outlet face includes at least two openings configured to receive and guide a respective prong of the plug into the set of at least two openings of the corresponding set of contacts. Each outlet member also includes an outlet rim made of a translucent material disposed about the outer periphery of the outlet face. There is light source disposed between the base and the cover that transmits light that passes through each outlet rim and is blocked by the opaque material.

  • Patent number: 10498120
Abstract: A cable clamp, comprising a base member including a surface configured to receive and engage with a side of a cable, a first leg portion and a second leg portion projecting from the surface. The first leg portion includes a first engagement surface having a plurality of teeth and the second leg portion includes a second engagement surface. There is a sliding member including a surface in opposing relation to the surface of the base and first and second engagement members. The first engagement member has a plurality of teeth mated to the teeth of the first engagement surface and the second engagement member is frictionally mated to the second engagement surface. The sliding member moves with respect to base member in a first direction but not in a second, opposite direction, due to the interaction of the teeth.

  • Patent number: 10263370
Abstract: An internally switched female receptacle or connector for use with IEC 60309-2 configuration plugs and the like. Various plug-latching and plug-actuated safety interlock arrangements coordinate strictly axial plug movement relative to the receptacle with the closing and opening of sleeve contacts and terminal pressure contacts. A continuous ground feature ensures grounding of the primary electrical circuit throughout plug insertion and withdrawal. An optional low-current lighting control circuit powers an LED status indicator. A modular clocking design enables variable angular positioning of the terminals during manufacture.
