  • Publication number: 20110049229
Abstract: A combination blank formed from a first blank attached to a second blank is described. The first blank includes panels defined between first and second transverse fold lines that are spaced a first distance apart. The first blank includes a dispensing flap pattern, to which adhesive is not applied. The second blank includes panels each having a width less than the first distance. The combination blank includes corresponding panels from the first blank and the second blank. The first blank can include a tear strip adjacent the dispensing flap pattern, with the tear strip generally not receiving adhesive. Optionally, the first blank can include a sift pocket formation, to which generally adhesive is not applied. The tear string can be positioned between the sift pocket formation and the dispensing flap pattern.

  • Patent number: 6709391
Abstract: The control panel of an ultrasound system can be moved laterally from one side of the ultrasound system to the other, enabling an operator to more comfortably operate the ultrasound system while scanning a patient located to the side of the ultrasound system. The control panel locks in its central home position and can be moved linearly to either side of the home position. Detents serve to retain the control panel at different lateral locations. Preferably the control panel can swivel independently of its lateral articulation.

  • Patent number: 6663569
Abstract: A cart-borne ultrasound system is described which includes a portable cart holding the electronic circuitry of the ultrasound system, a control panel for controlling the ultrasound system, and a display. The control panel is supported by an articulating mechanism which enables the control panel to be raised and lowered to accommodate operators of different height, and enables the control panel to move toward and away from the user to accommodate users in the sitting or standing positions. In a preferred embodiment the articulating mechanism comprises a parallelogram-shaped linkage which also maintains a constant angle of inclination of the control panel as it is raised and lowered.

  • Patent number: 5264864
Abstract: A chart recorder (10) is disclosed having an automatic paper loading system, an automatic tensioning system and an "odometer" system for determining the amount of paper moved through the chart recorder. The chart recorder (10) includes a print roller (34) and a feed roller (22), both in frictional contact with the paper in the recorder and both connected to and rotated by a motor. The feed roller (22) is connected to the motor through a one way clutch that allows the feed roller (22) to "free wheel" when the feed roller (22) is rotated at a faster rate, due to frictional contact with the paper, than the roller would be rotated by the motor (56). Dissipative forces in the one way clutch (68) and bearings (24) of the feed roller (22) cause it to resist being rotated which imparts tension to the paper and draws it into contact with a paper guide (14).

  • Patent number: 4688517
Abstract: Apparatus for processing samples, such as tissue samples, including a rotatable table which carries either the samples or solutions in which the samples are to be immersed. The table is rotatable between a series of sample processing stations and is also arranged for axial movement between positions at which a sample is and is not respectively immersed in a solution. A single reversible motor is operable to both rotate the table and cause axial movement thereof. The motor drives a spindle having a double helix and also drives the table through a one way clutch arranged so that in one mode of operation the motor rotates both the spindle and the table and in another mode it rotates the spindle only. In the latter case the table is caused to move up and down the spindle as a result of cooperation between a follower and the helix tracks of the spindle.
