  • Publication number: 20110248865
Abstract: A sensor device includes an interface that receives a request. The sensor device includes an updatable information store that responds to the request if the request is directed to the updatable information store, the updatable information store being in a first power domain of the sensor device. The sensor device also includes a power manager that activates a sensor element in the sensor device in response to receiving the request if the request is a request for measurement of a parameter by the sensor element. The sensor element is in a second power domain of the sensor device. The sensor element communicates measured parameter information to the updatable information store.

  • Patent number: 7929868
Abstract: An infrared data receiver includes an infrared detector for generating a received signal from an infrared input signal. A sampling module generates a sequence of sampled data from the received signal. A plurality of processing modules are included, wherein each processing module is capable of detecting and decoding data in at least one of a plurality of data formats. Each processing module analyzes the sequence of sampled data for its particular data formats. When a processing module detects one of its data formats, it generates a detection signal and decodes the sequence of sampled data into decoded data. A controller module receives the detection signal from one of the plurality of processing module, and disables the other ones of the plurality processing modules.

  • Publication number: 20100309912
Abstract: Methods, apparatus, and products are disclosed for forwarding frames in a computer network using shortest path bridging (‘SPB’). The network includes multiple bridges, and each edge bridge is assigned a unique service virtual local area network (‘VLAN’) identifier. One of the bridges receives a frame for transmission to a destination node. The received frame includes a service VLAN identifier for the ingress bridge through which the frame entered the network and a customer VLAN identifier. The one bridge identifies an SPB forwarding tree in dependence upon the service VLAN identifier. The SPB forwarding tree specifies a shortest route in the network from the ingress bridge through the one bridge to the other bridges in the network. The one bridge then forwards the received frame to the egress bridge without MAC-in-MAC encapsulation in dependence upon the SPB forwarding tree and the customer VLAN identifier.

  • Patent number: 7779367
Abstract: A toolbar displays dynamically configured controls based on a size of a window in which an application is running and on the media type presented. A large set of available controls may be available for the toolbar; however, the size of the application window in which the application is running may not be able to display all of the available controls in the window in such as way as to be comfortably used by a user. Accordingly, the controls may be scaled, filtered, and interchanged according to the “real estate” available in the application window, as well as other contextual aspects of the application, to provide a more user-friendly experience.

  • Patent number: 7630645
Abstract: An infrared controller detects an infrared (IR) transceiver type by entering an IR transceiver detection mode and providing a command to another IR transceiver. The command is formatted in accordance with a first IR transceiver type. The IR controller determines whether a response to the command is received within a predetermined time period. When the response to the command is received within the predetermined time period, a first IR transceiver type is indicated. When the response to the command is not received within the predetermined time period, a second IR transceiver type is indicated.

  • Patent number: 7551562
Abstract: The invention includes an apparatus and method for communicating link quality information between access nodes. A first step includes a first access node transmitting first routing packets. A second step includes a second access node receiving at least one of the first routing packets over a first direction of a first link. A third step includes the second access node transmitting second routing packets. A fourth step includes the first access node receiving at least one of the second routing packets over a second direction of the first link, and determining a first direction link quality of the first link based upon the second routing packets.

  • Patent number: 7469386
Abstract: The present invention provides a systems, methods, and products for enhanced user navigation to compliment (but not necessarily replace) a computer keyboard and mouse by providing a robust navigation interface. The present invention may comprise: a minimally necessary group of commands; combining the functionality a set of at least two command calls into a single logical button; for a single button, prioritizing a set of command calls from first to last and then calling each until one is accepted; logically remapping commands to buttons for a navigational device coupled to a physically rotate-able display device; and mapping a substitute command to a logical button for when the button is engaged in a predetermined manner other than the primary manner in which the logical button is engaged (e.g., double-clicking, flicking, press-and-hold, etc.) so that a substitute command can in fact be issued, among others.

  • Patent number: 7394987
Abstract: An Infrared (IR) receiver includes a programmable decoder having a normal mode of operation and a proprietary mode of operation. When the programmable decoder is in the normal mode of operation, the programmable decoder decodes frames of an IR data transmission to produce decoded data. When the programmable decoder is in the proprietary mode of operation, the programmable decoder passes data of the IR data transmission during a time out period to produce raw data. The IR receiver also includes a pulse detection circuit that generates a pulse detection signal in response to detecting the IR data transmission. The IR receiver further includes a timer circuit that generates the timeout period in response to the pulse detection signal.
