  • Publication number: 20240140182
Abstract: A truck that includes a bed section located rear of a cab section where the bed section is bounded on each side by opposing first and second upward-extending side walls, respectively. The truck includes a tonneau cover which has a first panel section pivotable with respect to the opposing first and second upward-extending side walls. A latching assembly is attached to the first panel section that selectively secures and releases the first panel section with respect to the first and second upward-extending side walls of the truck. The latching assembly includes at least one adjustable pinch latch assembly. The pinch latch assembly includes a latch handle portion and a latch base located on the first panel section adjacent the latch handle portion.

  • Patent number: 11500187
Abstract: Disclosed are systems, methods, and structures for broadband phase shifting for quantitative phase microscopy (QPI) that advantageously allows for a greater useable wavelength range for QPI wherein either/both illumination paths and/or scatter paths: 1) propagate through a reflective objective; 2) become quantifiably phase-shifted utilizing broadband mirror surfaces; 3) attenuate the relatively bright illumination paths to maximize contrast; and 4) recombine at a sensor plane for quantitative analysis.

  • Patent number: 11384540
Abstract: A beam connecting system uses a threaded connector rod and a mating connector, for example a nut, for mounting the end of a wood beam against the upright supporting surface of a supporting body. The connector rod protrudes from the upright supporting surface of the supporting body to be received in a fastener bore extending longitudinally into the beam from the end face of the beam. A transverse access bore which intersects the fastener bore receives the mating connector to form a mechanical connection to fasten the end face of the beam against the upright supporting surface. A wood plug encloses the access bore such that the mechanical connection is fully embedded in the beam and supporting body so as to be surrounded by wood material, and thus be protected from elevated temperatures in fire condition.

  • Publication number: 20210253451
Abstract: An apparatus and method for controlling and isolating ion generation from target metal ion precipitation and flocculation rely on an ion generator and a precipitation reactor distinct, separated, optimized, and otherwise independent from each other as to flow regime and contained fluid at all times. No co-habitation of ion generation and precipitation nor their flow regimes is permitted in a single unit. Plug flow at hyper turbulence in the ion generator contrasts with quiescent to laminar flows in the precipitation reactor. Insulating coatings and uneven surface retreat (decay, sacrifice, removal) at sacrificial anodes are replaced by a uniform, electro-machined, anodic surface by controlling against conventional “over driving” of ionizing currents. A precipitation reactor is optimized by a dwell time effective to precipitate and flocculate heavy target metal precipitants and sacrificial ions relying on weak forces therein, overwhelmed by inertial forces in the ion generator upstream.

No co-habitation of ion generation and precipitation nor their flow regimes is permitted in a single unit. Coating sacrificial anodes is avoided by avoiding over driving currents for ionization at the anode. A precipitation reactor is optimized by a dwell time effective to precipitate and flocculate heavy target metal precipitants and sacrificial ions relying on weak forces not tolerated by inertial forces in the ion generator.

  • Patent number: 9487305
Abstract: A system and method for analyzing a scenario, such as a communications scenario in which the end-to-end quality of communications between end nodes of a communications link may be affected by various factors and conditions. Such factors and conditions may include performance parameters of the end nodes and intermediate nodes, human operational performance, and external conditions, such as weather. Qualitative and quantitative representations of the end-to-end quality of communications are presented simultaneously and in a time-synchronized manner with displays of the relevant performance parameters, indications of human operational actions, and locations of nodes of the communications link and external conditions.

  • Patent number: 9255409
Abstract: A pole base bolt template that provides easy and accurate means to hold pole anchor bolts and a rebar cage in a pole base form while pouring concrete or other filling material into the form. The pole base bolt template comprises a plurality of arms disposed around a central hub, each arm comprising a slotted bolt hole, bolt diameter markings, and a form hook adaptable to secure the template to a form, and each arm being shaped so as to raise the entire template above the top of the form. The template further comprises a plurality of gaps between the arms that allow easy access to the form and the filling material.

  • Patent number: 9224165
Abstract: A method, system, architecture and apparatus for deploying multiple e-commerce systems in a single computing platform. In accordance with the present invention, an e-commerce systems architecture can include an instantiable owning business logic component derived from an abstract business definition and one or more instantiable business element components configured for aggregation under the control of a business facility instance. The business facility instance can include a coupling to an instance of the owning business logic component.
