  • Patent number: 4987441
Abstract: A portable and highly compact copier for photographically copying a selected portion of an illuminated image. The copier includes a lighttight housing having an opening therein and having a support for temporarily maintaining photosensitive material at a focal plane within the copier housing. An array of image-transferring cylindrical microlenses, each microlens having an image end and an object end, is slidably mounted in the housing opening with the image ends adjacent the focal plane and with the object ends facing outwardly of the copier housing opening. An electrical drive motor is provided which is mechanically coupled to the microlens array. A self-retracting shade arrangement forms a slidable lighttight seal between the microlens array and structure forming the housing opening such that all of the light passing though the housing opening and to the copier housing focal plane must pass through the microlens array.

  • Patent number: 4755144
Abstract: A buckle for securing a conductive strap has a conductive base for skin contact and a non-conductive cover partially attached to the base, the base having upwardly extending sides and the cover downwardly extending sides encapsulating the sides of the base. A conductive attachment element is on the cover and a conductive clip member is within the cover in electrical conduct with the attachment means and with the base continuously when the cover is closed and open.

  • Patent number: 4736215
Abstract: A photographic method and apparatus in which a camera adapted to receive a film container with at least one light-sensitive film unit and a dark slide protecting the film unit from light prior to insertion of the container into the camera, wherein the dark slide and/or film unit carry machine-readable information corresponding to the value of at least one film variable applicable to the film unit. The camera is equipped with reading means by which the indicia is read while the slide and/or film unit is stationary or during discharge from the camera to provide appropriate camera adjustment under control of signals developed by the reading step. The indicia may be in the form of a magnetic recording medium, in which case, the reading means carried by the camera is a magnetic read head or, alternatively, the indicia may be optically readable by optical scanning means carried by the camera.

  • Patent number: 4662695
Abstract: A buckle for securing a conductive strap comprises: a conductive base for skin contact and a non-conductive cover pivotally attached to the base, the base having upwardly extending sides and the cover downwardly extending sides encapsulating the sides of the base, conductive attachment means on the cover and a conductive clip member within the cover in electrical conduct with the attachment means and with the base when the cover is closed.

  • Patent number: 4209692
Abstract: A mounting and positioning structure for photoelectric detector units used to generate pulses in response to rotational movement of an automatically focused camera lens. The detector is provided with an integral hollow housing supporting a photocell and a light source on an axis displaced from and parallel to the pivotal mounting axis of the detector. The housing is insertable directly under a cantilevered resilient latch member having a blade-like edge engageable with embossed serrations which radiate from the pivotal mounting axis along one surface of the detector housing. The latch retains the detector in the position so that the light path between the light source and the photocell may be calibrated precisely with a reference determinative of lens focusing position.

  • Patent number: 4196994
Abstract: A photo-electric pulse generating unit for monitoring the focus position of a camera objective lens driven in response to a range detection system and operative to generate pulses on rotation of a lens coupled encoder wheel having angularly spaced apertures movable in relation to a detector unit housing the photo-electric pulse generating unit. The unit mounts a pulse generating photo-transistor in alignment with a light source such that the photo-transistor is spaced behind an opaque wall opening to "tunnel" light from a light source upon passing through an aperture in the encoder wheel. Light diffusing surface irregularities are provided to prevent impingement of reflected or ambient light on the photo-transistor.

  • Patent number: 4121233
Abstract: A thin-walled, collapsible, conical-shaped light baffle is provided on the inside of the exposure chamber of a compact folding reflex camera to reduce flare at the camera's focal plane during exposure. The light baffle is preferably formed of an opaque elastic material, such as a terpolymer, to provide it with a resilient characteristic which automatically biases it to assume a normally extended position when the camera is erected from a folded position. While in its extended position, the baffle is aligned with the optical path of the camera so that the interior surface of its lateral wall intercepts unwanted radiation originating outside of the camera's field of view which would, in the absence of the baffle, reflect off interior surfaces of the camera and cause either extraneous images and/or a contrast reduction in the final photographic record.
