  • Publication number: 20240090755
Abstract: A fluid management system includes a pump configured to pump fluid through the system at a fluid flow rate. The system includes a processor including a user interface, the user interface allowing a user to input a set of system operating parameters, the processor being configured to control the pump to maintain a target fluid flow rate based on the set of system operating parameters. The system further includes a scope device coupled to the pump to deliver fluid to a target surgical site, the scope device including an elongated shaft extending from a distal end thereof, the elongated shaft including at least one sensor, the sensor transmitting sensor data relating to target surgical site to the processor. The processor automatically signals to the pump to adjust the fluid flow rate based on the sensor data.

  • Patent number: 9185132
Abstract: Techniques for sensor based attack reflection are disclosed. In one particular exemplary embodiment, the techniques may be realized as a method for sensor based attack reflection comprising detecting an attack at a sensor, identifying a portion of memory associated with the attack, redirecting at least the identified portion of memory to a secure network using an access point, extracting data associated with the attack on the secure network, redirecting a response to the attack from the secure network to the sensor, transmitting the response from the sensor to a network location associated with the attack, receiving a subsequent attack communication based on the response at the access point, redirecting the subsequent attack communication to the secure network, and analyzing the subsequent attack communication.

  • Patent number: 8825773
Abstract: A computer-implemented method for concealing information of a personal profile provided by a social networking service is described. A message sent from the personal profile to a second profile provided by the social networking service is monitored. A determination is made as to whether the second profile is a commercial profile. The message is received when the second profile is a commercial profile. An avatar profile is used to publish the message anonymously to the second profile on behalf of the personal profile. A message sent from the second profile to the personal profile is intercepted when the second profile is a commercial profile. The intercepted message is analyzed with respect to at least one security filter. The message is associated with the avatar profile when the message passes the at least one security filter. The avatar profile is used to publish the message to the personal profile.

  • Patent number: 8312064
Abstract: Access to information or a document is secured by a central global positioning authority that evaluates access requests in accordance with predefined policies. One component of an access request includes location information regarding at least one of the requesting entity and location of the requested resource. Access is either allowed or denied as a function of at least the requesting entity, position information and the applicable policy or policies. An encryption/decryption scheme is implemented where the encryption key is a function of the resource's position.

  • Patent number: 8301432
Abstract: A computer-implemented method for determining a power cycle of a power source of a mobile device is described. An execution of one or more components on the mobile device is simulated. An amount of power drawn by the one or more components from the power source is estimated during the simulated execution of each of the one or more components. The estimated amounts of power drawn from the power source by each of the one or more components are aggregated to obtain a total estimate of power drawn from the power source. The power cycle of the power source is determined according to the total estimate of power drawn from the power source by each of the one or more components.

  • Patent number: 5790800
Abstract: In a distributed computer environment, an apparatus enables a client application of a mobile client processor to communicate with a server application of a server processor. The client application generates a request to communicate with the server processor. The client processor includes transport procedures for processing the request. The procedures and the client application expect a connection to be in place between the client processor and the server processor via a selected circuit of the communications network at the time the request is made. Therefore, the client processor includes an interceptor for intercepting the request and a communication manager for connecting the client processor and the server processor via the selected circuit of the network. Once the connection is established, the request is passed to the transport procedures.
