  • Patent number: 4023230
Abstract: A retractable bristle brush comprising a housing having a bottom side, a top side, spaced side walls and spaced end walls, a plurality of openings extending inwardly from the bottom side, a plurality of bristles aligned with said openings, means mounted for movement between retracted and extended positions of adjustment relative to the housing, the inner ends of said bristles being connected to said means for movement of said bristles through said openings to retracted position within the housing responsive to movement of said means to retracted position and for movement to extend perpendicularly outwardly from the bottom side of the housing responsive to movement of said means to extended position.

  • Patent number: 3976183
Abstract: An adapter permits replaceable inked ribbons to be used in a typewriter that is constructed to receive ribbon cartridges. Such a typewriter has means to removably retain a cartridge in place, and the adapter has a base plate that is engaged by said means. A transparent cover member which is spaced above the baseplate is hinged close to the plane of the baseplate so it swings forwardly as it is opened. A manually rotatable ribbon advance knob is rotatably mounted in the cover member and drivingly engages a ribbon take-up spool, preferably through a one-way clutch that prevents reverse rotation of the spool. For those typewriters which have a vertically movable control member to adjust the ribbon advance for total release ribbon or plastic matrix ribbon, the base plate carries a manually pivotable control member actuator.

  • Patent number: 3936201
Abstract: A hanger and sheet lifter for ring binders or the like whereby the ring binder may be hung on spaced parallel rails conventionally employed in many filing systems. The hanger is defined by an elongated member having a length greater than the length of the spine of the ring binder with which it is to be used. The ends of the member are provided with hooks which open in the same direction. The member also includes a plurality of slots corresponding in number to the number of rings in the ring binder in which it is to be used and which extends longitudinally of the member. The length of the slot is such that the hanger can move from a position wherein both hooks extend outwardly from opposite ends of the spine of the ring binder to a position wherein one of the hooks is wholly received within the ring binder to enable the ring binder to be stood on end without the lowermost hook interfering with the supporting surface.
