Abstract: This invention relates to fishing floats and more particularly to a lightweight illuminated tip-up fishing float for use while fishing at night, which float contains no toxic mercury to contaminate the fishing waters should the float become lost and broken or broken during use, and which float features a cageable, automatically decageable, dead-weight switch to control the lighting thereof when there occurs a fish bite or strike on the line to which the float is secured.
