  • Patent number: 10403462
Abstract: A fuse assembly includes an insulating block having an upper surface, a lower surface, and a side surface therebetween. The insulating block defines cavities extending therethrough. Each cavity defines a resilient lock arm. A fuse assembly also includes a first terminal stud secured within a first cavity by a first lock arm, a second terminal stud secured within a second cavity by a second lock arm, and a bus bar disposed parallel to the bottom surface of the insulating block. The bus bar is interconnected to the first terminal stud by a lower terminal connected to the bus bar and an upper terminal disposed parallel to the upper surface. The bus bar is interconnected to the second terminal stud by a fusible link having a lower fuse terminal connected to the bus bar and an upper fuse terminal disposed generally parallel to the upper surface.

  • Patent number: 9622355
Abstract: An environmentally sealed electrical housing assembly with an integrated connector and a method for manufacturing same is presented. The assembly includes a non-accessible electrical component, such an electromechanical relay, and a plurality of terminals connected to a circuit board. A dielectric housing encases the non-accessible electrical component. The housing is in intimate contact with the non-accessible electrical component, thereby sealing it from the environment. The housing defines an integral perimeter wall that surrounds the terminals, forming a connector shroud. Removable electrical components, such as fuse assemblies, may be attached to the terminals inside the shroud. When a sealed mating connector is attached to the housing, the removable components are also sealed from the environment. The assembly allows distribution of power switching functions and circuit protection to be distributed to a location near the electrical load instead of a central location, such as a bussed electrical center.

  • Patent number: 9616829
Abstract: An electrical center for distributing electrical power to an electrical system of a vehicle is provided. A housing of the electrical center includes a shroud that protrudes outward from a sidewall of the housing. A fuse assembly which is configured to fit into the housing includes a tab that protrudes outward from the sidewall. A sleeve is configured to engage the shroud and the tab such that a receptacle for a connector of the electrical system is formed on the sidewall.

  • Publication number: 20150016077
Abstract: An electrical center for distributing electrical power to an electrical system of a vehicle is provided. The electrical center includes a printed circuit board (PCB) that is configured to fit inside of a cover. The PCB includes a first electrical component that is electrically connected to the electrical system. A first retainer is configured to secure the PCB to the cover and to protect an exposed side of the PCB. The cover, the PCB, and the first retainer cooperate to form an assembly that protects the PCB when shipped. A base is configured to mechanically and electrically couple with the assembly. The base includes a second electrical component that is electrically connected to the electrical system.

  • Patent number: 5631918
Abstract: The present invention concerns laser diode arrays having an accurately spaced offset in the laser beams emanating from their respective laser stripes, and methods of their manufacture. The first method involves the mounting of at least two laser diodes on a submount such that the axes of the laser stripes between the two respective diodes are accurately spaced. The second method concerns the placement of a position mark on each diode at a accurate distance from the axis of the laser stripe such that the mark is easily detectable from a side view. The two diodes are then mounted with the axes of their laser stripes accurately spaced from the relative positioning of the position marks. The third method concerns the manufacture of laser diodes whose laser stripe axes are accurately spaced from at least one side edge of the diodes. The array of diodes is constructed such that the laser stripe axes are accurately spaced from each other relative to the side edges of accurate distance from their respective axes.

  • Patent number: 5521931
Abstract: Nonmonolithic laser arrays having a plurality of lasing elements mounted on one or more spacers which protrude from a thermally conductive support. The spacers ensure the accurate location and separation of the lasing elements, facilitate the orientation of the output laser beams, and enable low thermal, optical, and electrical cross-talk between the lasing elements.
