  • Publication number: 20130312837
Abstract: An electric motor actuated stop/check valve for industrial use such as liquid pumping systems which has a controlled opening and closing rate when liquid flow is in a forward direction but closes quickly upon reverse flow of liquid with no action from the electric motor actuator. Actuation of the valve is by an electric motor which provides movement to an actuator rod which contacts the disc stem. The disc stem and the actuator rod are not connected which allows the valve disc and disc stem free movement. No action by the electric motor is required. A spring biasing the valve disc toward the closed position and a hydraulically operated valve closing-speed regulator reduces or eliminates slamming of the valve disc against the valve seat. In a preferred method of operation liquid surge pressure transients are reduced or eliminated and slamming of valve components is prevented.

  • Publication number: 20110259433
Abstract: An electric motor actuated stop/check valve for industrial use such as liquid pumping systems which has a controlled opening and closing rate when liquid flow is in a forward direction but closes quickly upon reverse flow of liquid with no action from the electric motor actuator. A valve disc having an elongated disc stem contacts a valve seat when in a closed position to stop liquid flow. Actuation of the valve is by an electric motor which provides movement to an actuator rod which contacts the disc stem. The disc stem and the actuator rod are not connected which allows the valve disc and disc stem free movement, by action of the momentarily back-flowing liquid, to a back-flow preventing closed position when liquid forward flow is reversed. No action by the electric motor is required. A spring biasing the valve disc toward the closed position and a hydraulically operated valve closing-speed regulator reduces or eliminates slamming of the valve disc against the valve seat.

  • Patent number: 5242184
Abstract: A bicycle carrying accessory for use in connection with a conventional bicycle having a frame, a seat post extending upwardly from the frame, and a seat mounted on top of the post. The accessory includes an arcuate cushion having a forward end and a lower end, a fastening mechanism for detachably affixing the lower end of the cushion to the front side of the seat post, and another fastening mechanism for attaching the forward end of the cushion to the underside of the front section of the bicycle seat. From such front section of the seat, the cushion thus curves rearwardly and downwardly to a location in front of and adjacent to the seat post. In this position, the bicycle may be readily lifted to position the pad over the shoulder to allow for carrying the bicycle.

  • Patent number: 4473121
Abstract: A pressure regulating and relief valve assembly, such as an assembly positionable in a lower portion of a well casing. The valve assembly has a main relief valve assembly or back pressure regulator that is designed to open when the steam pressure exceeds a first predetermined value. A secondary relief valve assembly is provided to vent excess pressure to a space exterior of the valve assembly when the pressure exceeds a second predetermined value, the second value being higher than the first value. The valve assembly is positionable within a well casing at the bottom of a bore hole between a steam generator and a probe utilizing the steam generator. When the assembly is so positioned, excess pressure is vented to a space between the valve assembly and the inner surface of the encompassing well casing.
