  • Patent number: 7125549
Abstract: The invention includes a viral vector method and composition comprising transcomplementary replication incompetent viral vectors, preferably adenoviral vectors, which are cotransformed to a recipient cell. The two vectors complement each other and thus allow viral replication, in a synergistic combination which enhances both gene delivery and gene expression of genetic sequences contained within the vector.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: May 31, 2001
Date of Patent: October 24, 2006
Assignee: Human Gene Therapy Research Institute
Inventors: James N. Higginbotham, William J. Ramsey, Charles J. Link, Jr.

  • Publication number: 20030068485
Abstract: An insect resistant extruded or expanded polystyrene foam boards containing from 2 to 25 weight-% acicular particles such as fiberglass, stone wool, metal wool, gypsum, quartz and wollastonite, and insulation panels made from such boards. The fibers are preferably milled or chopped and range in size from 0.0156 inch (0.396 mm) inch to 0.5 inch (12.7 mm) in length and 10 to 20 micrometers in diameter.

  • Patent number: 4420154
Abstract: A weightlifting apparatus and method for preventing injury to a weightlifter from a weightlifting bar including weights thereon in the event of physical collapse of the weightlifter. The apparatus includes a framework having a base, a brace, a first pair of vertical support members secured to the brace and to the base and having a first slot therebetween with a structure defining a plurality of first apertures; and a second pair of vertical support members secured to the brace and to the base and having a second slot therebetween with a structure defining a plurality of second apertures. An adjustment body with adjustment apertures is slidably and adjustably mounted within the first slot and another adjustment body within the second slot. A bolt is threadably secured to the adjustment body for finely adjusting the height of a resting weightlifting bar with respect to a weightlifter.
