  • Patent number: 11084000
Abstract: The invention is an improved method of making a carbon molecular sieve (CMS) membrane in which a polyimide precursor polymer is pyrolyzed to form a carbon molecular sieve membrane by heating, in a furnace, said polyimide precursor polymer to a final pyrolysis temperature of 600 C to 700 C at a pyrolysis heating rate of 3 to 7 C/minute from 400 C to the final pyrolysis temperature, the final pyrolysis temperature being held for a pyrolysis time of at most 60 minutes in a non-oxidizing atmosphere. In a particular embodiment, the cooling rate from the pyrolysis temperature is accelerated by methods to remove heat. The CMS membranes have shown an improved combination of selectivity and permeance as well as being particularly suitable to separate gases in gas streams such methane from natural gas, oxygen from air and ethylene or propylene from light hydrocarbon streams.

  • Publication number: 20210241610
Abstract: A system and method are provided for improving vehicle awareness and safety by generating and transmitting alerts in response to detecting a hazard in the environment omnidirectional to a vehicle awareness system. Omnidirectional environment data, representing kinematic information pertaining to one or more physically detectable elements omnidirectional to the primary vehicle, is acquired by one or more sensors communicatively coupled to ta vehicle. The system analyzes the omnidirectional environment data to detect if one or more hazards in the omnidirectional environment data, representing a change in the kinetic behavior of the one or more physically detectable elements omnidirectional to the vehicle awareness system, has occurred. When the system detects one or more hazards in the omnidirectional environment data, the system generates and transmits an alert to vehicles, vehicle operators, mobile devices, or pedestrians at risk from the hazard.

  • Publication number: 20210241380
Abstract: A shared ledger operated by a group of network participants according to a set of consensus rules manages and resolves subrogation claims between a clamant and a defendant. Evidence regarding the value of the subrogation claim is sent to the shared ledger by entities involved in the claim such as sending to a smart contract deployed on the shared ledger. The parties to the subrogation claim may supplement evidence and settlement proposals on the blockchain by broadcasting a transaction or sending data to the smart contract. Once the claim is resolved, the parties may settle the subrogation payment off-chain or may transact a token having value on the chain. A subrogation smart contract may be programmed to release funds under certain conditions including holding a bond by a claimant and/or upon final resolution of the subrogation claim.

  • Publication number: 20210240710
Abstract: Techniques are disclosed relating to database query optimizers. In some embodiments, a query parser of a database system receives a query requesting data from a multi-tenant database. The query includes a first constraint that restricts a query optimizer's selection of a set of execution plans available to implement the query. The database system determines whether an override has been specified for a particular tenant associated with the received query, the override indicating that the first constraint is to be replaced with a second constraint for the particular tenant. In response to determining that the override has been specified for the particular tenant, the database system replaces the first constraint in the query with the second constraint and provides the query with the second constraint to the query optimizer for selection of an execution plan in accordance with the second constraint.

  • Patent number: 11083112
Abstract: A thermal management system for an enclosure containing electrical components includes a cooling unit for controlling temperature inside the enclosure and a controller for the cooling unit, the controller being configured so that it can receive a three-phase power input signal and distribute power and control connected components using the three-phase signal. The controller can protect the compressor in critical scenarios such as thermal overload and overcurrent. The controller can output various faults such as missing phase alarm, imbalance phase alarm, overcurrent alarm, thermal overload alarm, door open alarm, and temperature and pressure alarms. An auto phase sequence correction controls the phase relay, accepting 3 phase 480 VAC power input from facility power terminal, supplying 3 phase power to the compressor and motor impellers, 12V DC power to a display unit, and 24V DC power to a remote access control module.
