  • Publication number: 20140102469
Abstract: Methods for covalently binding a silicone polymer to hair or nails using UV light, a catalyst, a reactive solution, and compositions related thereto. The methods can include synthesizing a photo-reactive silicone and bonding the photo-reactive silicone polymer to hair, nails, or keratin. The methods can also include applying a vinyl-containing silicone polymer and a catalyst, or an aldehyde functionalized silicone polymer and reactive composition, to covalently bond the silicone polymer to hair, nails, or keratin. An advantage of covalently bonding silicone polymer to hair or nails can be that the silicone polymer add strengthens and shine to hair and nails, but are more resistant to washings with soap and shampoo than non-covalently bound silicone polymers.

  • Publication number: 20130096482
Abstract: A stylet having a non-round cross-sectional shape which is specifically adapted to reduce the adhesion or “stickiness” of contact between the stylet and the interior surface of the lumen of an elastomeric catheter through which it extends. The stylet may be “pre-loaded” into the catheter.

An adjustment circuit assembly includes a resistive element that is coupled to the valve member and operable to position the valve member relative to the valve seat so as to alter the pressure setting in response to a current applied to the resistive element. A reading circuit assembly includes an antenna coil, a sensing coil and a member moveable with respect to the sensing coil, the member configured to alter a resonant frequency of the reading circuit assembly as a function of a position of the member with respect to the sensing coil.
