Embodiments include receiving, by a library management system, a media file containing a message recorded on a handheld recording device; converting, by the library management system, the recorded message to text; identifying, by the library management system, a library management function in dependence upon the text; identifying in dependence upon the text, by the library management system, content under management upon which to invoke the library management function; and invoking, by the library management system, the identified library management function on the identified content. Embodiments also typically include recording the message on handheld recording device, and communicating the media file containing the message to the library management system.

The method includes tracking frequencies of historical replacement strings of characters, and providing a list of “n” number of the historical replacement strings of characters in response to a string of characters which were previously changed or are not recognized.

Abstract: A method for alleviating ambiguity issues of new user defined speech commands. An original command for a user-defined speech command can be received. It can then be determined if the original command is likely to be confused with a set of existing speech commands. When confusion is unlikely, the original command can be automatically stored. When confusion is likely, a substitute command that is unlikely to be confused with existing commands can be automatically determined. The substitute can be presented as an alternative to the original command and can be selectively stored as the user-defined speech command.

Abstract: According to a patient role and permissions indicators, an origin safeguard context including a patient origin location identifier, an associated origin space safeguard profile, and at least one associated previously-established set of control parameters, limit settings, and controllable device configurations are reconciled with a patient destination location identifier and an associated destination space safeguard profile to produce a destination safeguard context including a destination location set of control parameters, limit settings, and controllable device configurations. One or more destination facility configurations are controlled according to the destination safeguard context to provide automated portable safeguard contexts of in-room equipment such as patient monitors, gas valves, door locks, light switches, electricity sources, power furniture adjusters, and bedside instruments.

Abstract: A method of controlling bulk mail processing equipment through previewing bulk mail to intended recipients. Intended recipients view proposed mail piece front panel information prior to the actual production of the mail pieces. Intended recipients indicate which pieces of a mail are acceptable to receive, and which would be rejected if received. The recipients' choices are collected and reported to the bulk mailer, which information is then utilized to control actual production of bulk mail pieces, such as avoiding printing address labels to recipients who have indicated no desire to receive such pieces.

Abstract: A system, automated method, and article of manufacture storing software which enables certain safeguards within a controlled space as a tracked occupant moves about the space. For example, a child visitor to a hospital room is protected by assigning an Radio Frequency Identification badge upon registration. The RFID location is tracked, and certain safeguards, such as disabling hot water valves, high voltage sources, bed power adjustments, and locking instrument panels, are enacted as the child visitor enters the room. Using occupant roles, administrators can easily assign permissions and protective rules to each person.
