  • Publication number: 20210282986
Abstract: A wheelchair can comprise a frame and a plurality of wheels rotatably attached to the frame, and a motor coupled to the frame. A power source can be configured to power the motor. A drive shaft can be coupled to the motor. A first sprocket can be coupled to the drive shaft. A second sprocket can be configured to be rotationally fixed to a wheel of the plurality of wheels. A drive belt or chain can extend between the first sprocket and the second sprocket. An input device can be configured to receive an input from an operator and, in response to receiving the input, cause the motor to rotate.

  • Patent number: 9480618
Abstract: A portable active fluid-powered ankle foot orthosis. A lower leg mount and a foot bed are pivotally coupled at or proximate to an ankle position. A fluid powered rotary actuator is configured to receive power from a wearable fluid power source and provide controlled force and resistance to aid or inhibit relative rotation of the foot bed and the lower leg mount. An integral controller is provided for receiving data from sensors and controlling the fluid powered rotary actuator to actively assist gait of a user.

  • Patent number: 8778436
Abstract: Apparatus for producing a serving of frozen confectionery product is characterized by a supply of liquid gas, a support for removably carrying a disposable container that holds a volume of unfrozen confectionery mix, and a holder for releasably holding a disposable agitator, such that the agitator extends into confectionery mix in the container. A valve controllably dispenses liquid gas into the confectionery mix in the container while relative motion is imparted to the container and agitator to agitate and admix the confectionery mix and liquid gas while the liquid gas mix evaporates to cool and freeze the confectionery mix, through a transfer of heat from the confectionery mix to the liquid gas and through the latent heat of evaporation of the liquid gas, to produce the frozen confectionery product.

  • Publication number: 20100274276
Abstract: An occlusion system, method, and apparatus which treats an aneurysm in a primary vessel such as an intracranial vessel. Aneurysm types treatable by means of this invention include bulge (sometimes referred to as a true aneurysm), dissecting aneurysms in which the layers of vessel wall are partially delaminated, and what are referred to a “false” aneurysm defined by a relatively small opening in the parent vessel wall fluridically coupled to a bulb-shaped sac, also defined by the vessel wall. The system includes an occlusion device configured for deployment in the parent vessel that restricts fluid flow to the aneurysm. A patch on the device covers the neck of the aneurysm. The system includes a marker in a defined relationship with the patch, which allows for axial and rotational positioning of the device.

  • Patent number: 6423059
Abstract: A radio frequency ablation apparatus having an application wand which is articulating and self-locking in a selected configuration. The wand has a handle having a thumb wheel apparatus. A threaded bore extends coaxially through the thumb wheel. A threaded tube received in the threaded bore translates a wire which extends to the distal end of the wand. At the distal end of the wand, the wire passes over a bendable section in the wand. Pushing or pulling the wire bends the distal tip through a range of angles on both sides of a neutral linear position. The distal tip remains self-locked in a selected position when the thumb screw is not turned.

  • Patent number: 4095139
Abstract: A light control system for selectively controlling the light intensity levels of a plurality of light groups, each group including one or more lights, is disclosed. The system comprises a control for generating a parallel binary-coded signal representative of a predetermined current level to be applied to a particular light group; a signal generator for providing (1) a unique and predetermined serially-coded address signal corresponding to the particular light group and, (2) a serially-coded data signal representative of the current level in response to the parallel binary-coded signal, and; a plurality of receivers, at least one for each light group for applying the current level to the particular light group only in response to the address signal and data signal. A common wire bus for transmitting the address and data signals from the signal generator to each of the receivers is utilized to substantially reduce the wiring required.
