    Abstract: A tiedown device for holding one end portion of a working element, such as a chain or cable, intended to be anchored or tied down. The tiedown device includes a tubular body member having a plurality of slots opening at one end of the body member so as to separate and define a plurality of cantilevered segments each capable of being forcibly urged outwardly into gripping relationship with a surrounding structure, such as a concrete floor slab, by a wedge member within the body member and having an exterior surface in engagement with the interior surface of the cantilevered segments. A top insert is positioned within the body member and has an end portion with one surface thereof in engagement with a portion adjacent the other end of the body member.
