  • Publication number: 20120011967
Abstract: There is provided a metals recovery system including at least one tank having a top portion and a bottom portion, wherein the top portion has an inlet and said bottom portion has an outlet, a process fluid delivery device in fluid communication with the tank for delivering a supply of process fluid to the tank, an ore delivery device for delivering a supply of ore into the tank through the inlet in the top portion of the tank, an agitator located within the tank for disrupting a downward flow path of the ore through the tank and an ejection device in communication with the bottom of the tank for transporting process fluid and ore from the tank to a location apart from the tank. Also provided is a method of recovering metal from ore by supplying a constant head pressure of process fluid to at least one tank, distributing ore into the tank, disrupting the flow of ore through the tank and discharging the ore and process fluid from the tank an into a processing apparatus.

  • Patent number: 4954055
Abstract: A variable diameter tube for use with a roller pump which is formed with a central large diameter section that is positioned in the roller pump raceway. This tube is formed with two end portions of substantially similar internal diameter with the diameter of the tube gradually increasing towards the central section. The gradual increase in diameter is no greater than about thirty degrees per inch and the wall thickness of the tubing wall is substantially equivalent along its entire length.

  • Patent number: 4033828
Abstract: A coke oven door seal of the disclosure includes a metallic diaphragm plate of a vertically elongated rectangular shape and metallic seal members mounted on the edge portions of the plate in a manner that permits thermal expansion of the seal members along their lengths with respect to the plate edge portions. Preferably, each seal member has an integral channel shape, and first and second aligned sets of holes in the plate edge portions and the bases of the seal members receive attachment bolts for mounting the seal members with their bases engaged with an inner side of the diaphragm plate. One of the sets of holes is oversized along the length of the seal members to permit the thermal expansion thereof with respect to the plate. Best sealing is achieved when the oversized set of holes is in the seal member bases so that the attachment bolts do not move during seal member expansion.
