Publication number: 20240165173Abstract: The present disclosure provides a method for reducing uric acid by using Lactobacillus paracasei LT12 or Lactobacillus plantarum CBT LP3. The technical schemes provided herein produces the efficacies in reducing uric acid and protecting kidneys, wherein Lactobacillus paracasei LT12 and Lactobacillus plantarum CBT LP3 can effectively degrade inosine and guanosine and reduce production of uric acid, serum creatinine, and blood urea nitrogen; reducing renal pro-inflammatory factor levels; decreasing oxidative damage caused by uric acid production; and promoting uric acid excretion. Mice experiments prove that mice with high uric acid levels, after continuous consumption of the composition of the present invention, have significantly lowered blood uric acid levels. In addition, compared to control group, renal damage is significantly reduced, indicating an improved efficacy in renal protection.Type: ApplicationFiled: November 17, 2023Publication date: May 23, 2024Inventors: XIANGRU KONG, WEITING TSENG, WEITING CHANG, WILLIAM T. Publication number: 20240104930Abstract: The disclosure describes techniques for interacting with visitors at a visitor interaction system. A method includes obtaining video data captured by the visitor interaction system, identifying an approach of a person, and analyzing the video data to determine an identity of the person. The method includes automatically and without user intervention determining that the person belongs to a visitor groups of a plurality of visitor groups. Each of the visitor groups corresponds to a response model that includes a plurality of response actions. At least one of the response actions includes an autonomous response action. The method includes identifying a response model corresponding to the visitor groups and initiating an autonomous response action associated with the response model. Initiating the autonomous response action including presenting a message to the person, monitoring a response to the message, and sending a report message to the user via a client device.Type: ApplicationFiled: December 11, 2023Publication date: March 28, 2024Applicant: Google LLCInventors: William Alexander Finlayson, Liana Kong, John Jordan Nold, Sahana Mysore, Ruiyi Song

Patent number: 11926647Abstract: The invention encompasses components from microbial cells which are useful for antibody production, including peptides, polypeptides comprising these peptides, polynucleotides which encode these peptides or polypeptides, and antibodies directed to these peptides, polypeptides, or polynucleotides. The invention also encompasses to expression vectors and host cells for producing these peptides, polypeptides, polynucleotides, and antibodies. The invention further encompasses methods and compositions, especially vaccine compositions, for detecting, targeting, and inhibiting microbial cells, especially methanogen cells, using one or more of the disclosed peptides, polypeptides, polynucleotides, antibodies, expression vectors, and host cells.Type: GrantFiled: April 8, 2021Date of Patent: March 12, 2024Assignee: Pastoral Greenhouse Gas Research LimitedInventors: Eric Heinz Altermann, Graeme Trevor Attwood, Dong Li, William John Kelly, Zhanhao Kong, Sinead Christine Leahy

Patent number: 11914899Abstract: A system (e.g., NVMe controller) for managing access to a memory resource by multiple users may include memory storing function queue categorizations for function queues associated with each user, and circuitry to store and execute a multi-user arbitration algorithm that arbitrates access to the memory resource by the multiple users. The function queue categorizations assign a function category to each function queue associated with each user.Type: GrantFiled: May 13, 2022Date of Patent: February 27, 2024Assignee: Microchip Technology IncorporatedInventors: Kwok Kong, William Brent Wilson, Ihab Jaser, Donia Sebastian, Dan McLeran

Patent number: 11608245Abstract: An automatic line reel includes a flexible line wound onto a motor-driven reel assembly. A processor controlling the motor detects contact pressure between the flexible line and a triangular pressure transducer, automatically extending the flexible line when the contact pressure exceeds a preset threshold. Line extension stops when contact pressure falls below a second preset threshold. The flexible line may be retracted and rewound around the reel assembly by activation of a switch on a wireless remoted control, by a switch on the automatic line reel, or by activation of a smart phone application program in data communication with the processor controlling the reel assembly. A reel assembly is optionally configured to maintain uninterrupted fluid communications through the automatic line reel as the reel assembly rotates. The reel assembly may optionally be configured to maintain uninterrupted electrical signal communication through the automatic line reel.Type: GrantFiled: December 29, 2020Date of Patent: March 21, 2023Inventor: William Kong

Patent number: 8828513Abstract: An energy absorbing system has an inner tube and an outer tube that are stitched together. The inner tube contains a set of fibers oriented in a first direction and the outer tube has a second set of fibers oriented in a direction different from the first direction. Preferably these orientations are equal and opposite to each other. The inner tube may be hollow, but preferably has a cellular core. The outer tube may be spaced apart from the inner tube to create an annular cavity that is filled with a cellular material.Type: GrantFiled: August 11, 2009Date of Patent: September 9, 2014Assignee: The Penn State Research FoundationInventors: Chandrashekhar Tiwari, Edward C. Smith, Charles E. Bakis, Michael A. Yukish, William Kong
