  • Patent number: 4644095
Abstract: A base member of an enclosure supports an upright frame having a box-like door hinged at its upper portion to the frame. The door when swung outwardly to an open position provides access to the interior of the enclosure and also provides a cover for equipment in the enclosure from weather elements. The upright frame may support double doors for providing an enclosure for different portions of communications equipment, the double doors also providing selected locked access to authorized personnel. The base member is constructed of two separable parts in an arrangement such that these parts can be replaced by larger parts when the capacity of the communications equipment is to be expanded. The enclosure is preferably constructed of a rust and corrosion proof plastic material and one that requires little or no maintenance.

  • Patent number: 4365108
Abstract: A tubular housing and cover therefor, forming a secondary power pedestal, have a tapered construction and are arranged to nest together in shipment, storage and handling. The lower end of the housing is open and has substantially straight walls at its lower end to provide such nesting with the cover. The opposite sides of the housing adjacent the bottom are slotted and are arranged to receive a pair of side strips capable of being held in the slots by a pair of connecting strips combining with the side strips to form a ground anchor flange. The connecting strips are of a structure facilitating their use as a ground anchor stake in the event that a ground anchor stake is to be used rather than a ground anchor flange.

  • Patent number: 4158102
Abstract: A lightweight tubular housing open at both ends is specially constructed so as to be buried in the earth to almost its full height and yet withstand thrust forces of fill material. For this purpose the housing has outwardly curved side walls, it is tapered to a larger dimension toward the bottom, and its walls have an increasing outward curvature toward the bottom. The front wall of the housing is of less height than the rear wall to provide front access to the equipment. An inverted cup-shaped cover closes the upper open end of the housing and has a hinged connection that allows it to be opened or to be readily disconnected.

  • Patent number: 3978758
Abstract: An auxiliary head with a peripheral wrench surface is secured on a body member of a type having a threaded shank, a head, and lateral projecting means adjacent the bottom of the head which extend out beyond the outer dimension of the threads on the shank. Such auxiliary head has an axial opening which is larger than the threaded shank so as to receive the latter but is dimensioned at least in some portions thereof relative to the projecting dimension of the lateral projecting means such that securement of the two parts is accomplished by forcing the auxiliary head up against the bottom of the head of the body member onto the lateral projecting means in a press fit or in a broached connection.

  • Patent number: 3944718
Abstract: An enclosure including a housing open at the bottom and arranged to conceal pad mounted equipment such as electrical equipment. The housing has one or more doors for access to the interior and includes at least one lateral rib in its walls for reinforcement. The housing is formed integrally from two molded joined sections and has a bottom inturned flange that reinforces the housing and also is used to secure the housing on a ground supported pad. The door is provided with an inturned peripheral flange and the housing around the door opening is formed with a semi-circular or U-shaped guard flange receiving the inturned flange on the door to provide a tamper-proof joint around the door.

  • Patent number: 3938837
Abstract: A safety lock for enclosures having a first lock portion attached to the first of two members to be locked together. This lock portion includes a bolt rotatable for accomplishing a locking function. The bolt has a head of non-conventional shape. A second lock portion is attached to the other of the members to be locked together and is engageable by the bolt. The first lock portion includes a protective wall peripherally surrounding the bolt head and open at its outer end. The surrounding wall defines a socket which is at least as deep as the thickness of the bolt head to prevent side engagement of the bolt head and which is of greater diameter than the bolt head to permit removal of the bolt by a special wrench inserted through the open end of the protective wall. The second lock portion in one embodiment includes a pin having a radial notch intermediate its ends engageable by the bolt to provide a more positive lock.
