  • Patent number: 6919501
Abstract: A locking and tuning stabilizing device for an electric guitar having a tremolo device includes a clamp screw and an adjustment screw to enable the player to lock the tremolo or to stabilizing the tuning of the strings by turning an appropriate, easily accessible knob projecting from the guitar. In a first embodiment, an axially movable pin is in contact with the tremolo device at one end and in contact with an adjustment screw disposed in the end of the guitar at the opposite end. In second and third embodiments, an anchor block is disposed within a cavity on the back of the guitar. A pin connects to the tremolo device and is axially slidable within the anchor block. Clamping the pin to a fixed position within the anchor block, by tightening a clamp screw disposed in the anchor block, functions to lock the tremolo device in place.

  • Patent number: 5232113
Abstract: A cap for substantially gas-tight sealing engagement with a container wall having an opening therein circumscribed by a sealing surface has an end wall and a depending skirt with a portion for securing the cap to the container wall. The cap is preferably composed of about 94.5 to 99.89 weight percent low density polyethylene and may have a polybutylene copolymer present in an amount of about 0.01 to 5.0 weight percent. A mold release agent may be employed. A tab for manual engagement to rotate the cap between a container wall sealing surface engaging position and a storage position may be provided. The cap has a vent region provided by a weakened zone that is preferably located on or near the tab. The cap is adapted once in gas-tight sealing engagement with the sealing surface of the container wall to vent automatically in the weakened zone upon predetermined internal container pressure being attained and to subsequently reseal automatically. A container in combination with such a cap is also disclosed.

  • Patent number: 5017411
Abstract: A polymer blend comprising a polycarbonate, an acrylonitrile-methyl acrylate copolymer and an imide-acrylate copolymer containing acidic or anhydride groups which have been alkylated or esterified. The polymer blend has a low oxygen permeation rate, high strength, and is suitable for use as a packaging material.

  • Patent number: 4390653
Abstract: An improved flame-retardant thermoplastic compound based upon a surface modified alumina hydrate composition containing powdered alumina hydrate, a liquid mixture of C.sub.10 -C.sub.20 carboxylic acids and a solid mixture of C.sub.14 -C.sub.20 carboxylic acids. A preferred solid mixture comprises stearic acid and palmitic acid. Thermoplastic compounds made with polypropylene and an alumina hydrate composition containing isostearic acid together with the solid fatty acid mixture of the invention exhibit an increased melt index and reduced molding pressure compared with polypropylene compounds made with isostearic acid coated alumina hydrate and no solid fatty acid mixture.
