  • Patent number: 9358694
Abstract: A hand guard strap which mounts to and is held onto the handle of a tool, such as a knife, by sliding onto the handle at distal and proximal ends, the hand guard being held in a secured position by means of spring tension in the strap.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: June 3, 2014
Date of Patent: June 7, 2016
Inventors: Sean Heumann, William L Heumann
  • Patent number: 8512451
Abstract: A cyclone separator arrangement is made by forming a hollow cylindrical wall, making an L-shaped cut beginning at a first open end of the wall to form a flap, bending the flap inwardly to form a tangential inlet, enclosing the open end of the wall, and providing an outlet tube extending through the first end into the interior of said cylindrical wall along the central longitudinal axis.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: October 7, 2011
Date of Patent: August 20, 2013
    Inventor: William L. Heumann
  • Patent number: 7708808
Abstract: A cyclone separator including a gas inlet, a gas outlet, and a particle outlet opening, wherein a rotatable particle collection chamber is in fluid communication with the particle outlet opening.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: June 1, 2007
Date of Patent: May 4, 2010
    Assignee: Fisher-Klosterman, Inc.
    Inventor: William L. Heumann
  • Patent number: 6837912
Abstract: A cyclone separator including vanes along the inside wall of the conical section of the separator to regulate the pitch and thus the axial velocity of the gas flow stream in the separator. By adjusting the pitch of the gas flow stream, the collection efficiency of the separator can be optimized so as to minimize the amount of dust particles which are re-entrained in the gas flow stream exiting the separator.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: April 2, 2003
Date of Patent: January 4, 2005
    Assignee: Fisher-Klosterman, Inc.
    Inventor: William L. Heumann
  • Patent number: 6686752
Abstract: A vessel, as for a cyclone separator, includes a continuous electrical conductor embedded in the wall of the vessel for sensing when the lining has eroded.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: June 19, 2002
Date of Patent: February 3, 2004
    Assignee: Fisher-Klosterman, Inc.
Inventors: William L. Heumann, Frank Elvin, Russell J. Lewis, Edwin D. Tenney, Joseph A. Urban, Mark T. Noppenberger, James F. Miller
  • Patent number: 5907910
Abstract: A method has been found to improve the efficiency of a cyclone system for a fluidized bed. The typical plurality of cyclones arranged in series in communication with the fluidized bed is replaced by a plurality of similarly-sized cyclones arranged in parallel, so that the residence time in each of the cyclones is greater than it was in the original system, thereby greatly improving the recovery of particulate material while greatly reducing the energy consumption of the system.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: April 24, 1997
Date of Patent: June 1, 1999
    Assignee: Fisher-Klosterman, Inc.
    Inventor: William L. Heumann
  • Patent number: 5612003
Abstract: A fluidized bed vessel includes a cyclone which has a leg for returning particulate material to the bed, and an eductor at the bottom of the leg for providing the gas to fluidize the bed and for inducing a downward flow in the leg to provide greater particulate separation from the gas in the cyclone.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: October 18, 1995
Date of Patent: March 18, 1997
    Assignee: Fisher-Klosterman, Inc.
    Inventor: William L. Heumann
