  • Patent number: 6740790
Abstract: Disclosed is a method for making olefin product from an oxygenate-containing feedstock. In the method, a silicoaluminophosphate molecular sieve catalyst is contacted with the oxygenate-containing feedstock in a reactor at an average catalyst feedstock exposure index of at least 1.0. The method produces lower coke yield and provides an olefin product which is low in C1-C4 paraffin content. The invention is particularly effective in producing an olefin product having a very low propane content.

  • Patent number: 6673978
Abstract: Disclosed is a method for converting an oxygenate feedstock to an olefin product. In particular, the method incorporates the use of a silicoaluminophosphate molecular sieve catalyst in the manufacture of ethylene and propylene. The method includes contacting an oxygenate-containing feedstock with a silicoaluminophosphate molecular sieve catalyst to form the olefin-containing product in a fluidized bed reactor apparatus including at least a reaction zone and a recirculation zone. Certain ratios of the mass of catalyst in the reaction zone to that of the sum of the mass of catalyst in both the reaction zone and the recirculation zone within the reactor apparatus are specified.
    Type: Grant

Date of Patent: January 6, 2004
    Assignee: ExxonMobil Chemical Patents Inc.
Inventors: Nicolas P. Coute', Keith H. Kuechler, Paul N. Chisholm, Stephen N. Vaughn, James R. Lattner, William L. Kuechler, Sr.

  • Patent number: 5237678
Abstract: The present invention provides a system for the input, retrieval, manipulation and analysis of stored information in an information base. The system comprises an input device, a storage device, and an output device each capable of handling information base records. Each of the fields of the records is processed to produce a compact symbol or code corresponding to predefined ranges of values of an field. These codes are then stored in correspondence with the records which gave rise to them. The result of this processing is a topological map of the fields of the information base records. These topological maps may be retrieved and later processed to efficiently retrieve stored records, given any general unpreprogrammed query as input to the system. These topological maps may also be utilized in a process to determine correlations among the various fields of the records.

Abstract: The present invention provides a system for the input, retrieval, manipulation and analysis of stored information in an information base. The system comprises an input device, a storage device, and an output device each capable of handling information elements. Each of the attributes of the information elements is processed to produce a compact symbol or code corresponding to predefined ranges of values of an attribute. These codes are then stored in correspondence with the information elements which gave rise to them. The result of this processing is a topological map of the attributes of the information elements. These topological maps may be retrieved and later processed to efficiently retrieve stored information elements, given any general unpreprogrammed query as input to the system. These topological maps may also be utilized in a process to determine correlations among the various attributes of the information elements.

  • Patent number: 4022749
Abstract: The formation of composite materials is disclosed, using high energy rotary impact milling. The illustrations utilize polymer resin particles as the matrix material, and solid particle fillers. Ultra-small particle sizes are used for both the matrix and filler materials. When the resultant materials are processed by usual forming techniques, the resultant composite materials possess strength properties approximately equivalent to those of the unfilled matrix material, even though heavily filled.
