  • Patent number: 5094350
Abstract: An adjustable rack construction in which the shelf is supported so that its vertical position and angle of inclination with respect to the vertical can be changed by an operator without using any tools.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: May 15, 1991
Date of Patent: March 10, 1992
Assignee: Smock Material Handling Company, Inc.

  • Patent number: 4977999
Abstract: A container handler for use with an over-and-under conveyor having upper and lower gravity-type roller conveyor sections disposed vertically one above the other. The container handler is disposed directly adjacent the discharged end of the upper conveyor and has a support platform alignable with the upper conveyor so that a container can be discharged from the upper conveyor onto the support platform for engagment with a stop. The front end of support platform, namely the end with the container stop, can be vertically lowered by an operator to facilitate access to the container. The front end can be vertically raised and lowered by a first lifting device and, when the operator is completed with his operations, the first lifting device lowers the front end of the support platform to a lowermost position.

  • Patent number: 4380287
Abstract: An elongated oscillating live-roller conveyor is disposed between a pair of horizontal guide rails which project upwardly above the conveyor rollers for slidably guiding skids unidirectionally along the conveyor. A pair of one-way holding mechanisms are mounted on opposite sides of the skid and cooperate with the upper surfaces of the guide rails for causing the skid to be unidirectionally stepped along the conveyor as it reciprocates back and forth. The one-way holding mechanism includes an elongated dog which is swingably mounted on the side of the skid and has a lower edge which slides along the top surface of the guide rail during forward advance of the skid, and grippingly engages the top surface during retraction of the conveyor so as to prevent retraction of the skid.

  • Patent number: 4282970
Abstract: An oscillating conveyor provided with an elongated low-profile frame having support wheels thereon. A plurality of conveyor rolls are rotatably supported on the frame at intervals therealong, which rolls define a horizontal support plane for a load to be conveyed. A drive device is connected to the frame to horizontally oscillate it back and forth through a stroke of predetermined length. A plurality of one-way holding members are mounted at closely spaced intervals along the length of the conveyor, which holding members permit one-way movement of loads along the conveyor but prevent backward movement thereof. When the frame is moved forwardly by the drive, the rolls remain substantially nonrotatable and hence move the loads forwardly through a predetermined step, during which forward movement the holding members are retracted to permit the loads to pass thereby.

  • Patent number: 4264005
Abstract: A powered roller conveyor wherein a plurality of conveyor rolls are formed as elongated sleeves and are freely rotatably supported on support shafts which are slightly undersized relative to the sleeves. At least some of the support shafts are rotatably driven. The conveyor incorporates at least one zone having a brake or lifting device disposed below the conveyor rolls and liftable upwardly a small amount to thereby engage the conveyor rolls to drivingly disengage same from the continuously driven support shafts to permit stoppage of the conveyor rolls and the articles supported thereon. This lifting device accomplishes stopping of selected conveyor rolls and articles while permitting continuous driving of the support shafts throughout the conveyor.
