  • Publication number: 20110226164
Abstract: The invention is direct to ethoxylated/propoxylated fatty alcohol (meth)acrylates according to general formula (I) , R2O(CH2CH2O)p1(CH(CH3)CH2O)q(CH2CH2O)p2(O=)C-CR1=CH2 (I) in which R1 stands for hydrogen or a methyl group, R2 represents an alkyl or alkenyl radical having 12 to 22 carbon atoms, p1 and p2 independently stand for 0 or integers of 1 to 50, and q for an integer of from 1 to 50. The compounds of formula (I) are useful as defoamers for concrete and/or cement compositions.

  • Patent number: 7872077
Abstract: Grafted polymers which are the reaction products of: (a) (Meth)acrylic acid and (b) Non-symmetric maleates according to general formula (I), in which R1 stands for a linear or branched alk(en)yl radical having 1 to 22 carbon atoms and 0 or 1 double bond, while n and m independently represent integers between 0 and 200, on condition that the sum (n+m) is different from 0 are disclosed. Methods of making and using the grafted polymers are also disclosed.

  • Publication number: 20070155924
Abstract: A starter system for polymerization of unsaturated monomers in a nonaqueous media is provided. The starter system comprises a peroxide compound (0.02% to 7%), an organic hydrazine derivative (0.005% to 3%) and a transition metal ion (1 to 1000 ppm) the concentation based on the polymerization mixture as a whole. The starter system prevents rapid polymerization and development of heat in the polymerization system at the beginning of the polymerization. The preferred nonaqueous solvents are aromatic hydrocarbons.
