  • Publication number: 20160203655
Abstract: A system for recording data from one or more electronic control units in one or more vehicles includes a data-recorder and a memory. The data-recorder is suitable for communication with an electronic control unit of a vehicle. The memory is in communication with the data-recorder. The memory is used to store configurations of vehicles. The configurations are used to configure the data-recorder to communicate with the vehicle. The memory is also used to store additional code used to configure data acquisition (DAQ) settings of the data-recorder to capture data from the vehicle at a first data-rate when a first trigger-signal transitions to a first state, and capture data from the vehicle at a second data-rate when a second trigger-signal transitions to a second state.

  • Publication number: 20120185063
Abstract: Disclosed is electronic control unit data recorder readable code which is configured for storage in memory of an electronic control unit data recorder, such as a vehicle data recorder. The code is configured to provide that the electronic control unit data recorder has access to a plurality of configurations, receives data from at least one electronic control unit and uses at least a portion of the data to determine which configuration to use during data collection and processing. The configuration which the electronic control unit data recorder uses dictates what additional data is received from at least one electronic control unit by the electronic control unit data recorder, as well as what data regarding the electronic control unit is stored and/or transmitted by the electronic control unit data recorder.

  • Publication number: 20120185124
Abstract: Disclosed is an automated data acquisition and issue management system which includes a server, and code which is readable by an electronic control unit data recorder. The electronic control unit data recorder is configured to receive data from at least one electronic control unit. The code is configured to provide that the electronic control unit data recorder receives data from at least one electronic control unit, collects, processes, and transmits the data to the server. The code is also preferably configured to provide that the electronic control unit data recorder identifies at least one issue with regard at least one electronic control unit and communicates data regarding said issue to the server.
