Abstract: A system, device, and kit for repositioning a patient reposed on a bed including a housing configured to be mounted at a head of a bedframe; at least one roller supported by said housing; a flexible member is coupled to said at least one roller; a retracting head coupled to the flexible member, rotation of the at least one roller in a first direction effecting spooling of the cable onto the at least one roller and translation of the retracting head toward the head of the bed, the retracting head including a mouth section; and a clamp, the clamp being rotatably coupled to the mouth section and being configured to releasably secure a drawsheet positioned on the bed within the mouth section, the clamp having an edge having a corresponding shape to a first surface of the mouth section such that the shape of the edge approximates the shape of the first surface of the mouth section when the clamp is rotated toward a locked condition in which the drawsheet is releasably secured within the mouth section.

Abstract: A container for an air freshening liquid including a bottom portion having a bottom wall and at least one lateral wall. The container has a liquid-permeable upper wall. The lateral wall includes at least one open groove extending to the upper wall whereby liquid in the container rises by capillary action to the upper wall which absorbs the liquid for evaporation.

Abstract: An air impermeable sealing band of rubberized material is introduced between the patient's stump and the interior of a stump-receiving socket of an artificial limb, in one of two ways, depending on whether or not the patient wears a stump sock. If the patient wears a stump sock, the band of sealant material is impregnated into the stump sock. If the patient does not wear a stump sock, an impregnated sock is incorporated into the interior structure of the socket of the patient's prosthesis. The impregnated sock itself is fabricated by placing a conventional stump sock on a somewhat oversized form. An appropriate annular region on the sock is then masked off by means of tightly fitting plastic bags, and one of the plastic bags provides an enclosing outer sheath which encompasses the annular region and extends upwardly above the form.

Abstract: The present invention pertains to a safety closure for a sparkling wine bottle which closure comprises a specially constructed cork member having a head portion, a base portion and a stem or shank portion interposed between said head and base portions with the base portion being provided with gas pervious means to permit the passage of pressurized gas from beneath the base portion, past the shank portion and then outwardly of the opening in the neck of the bottle. The foregoing is the structure by which the pressurized gas is safely and effectively dispelled from the bottle while concomitantly providing the aural popping associated with the opening of a bottle of sparkling wine but preventing the forcible propulsion of the cork member outwardly of the bottle, due to the frictional engagement of the base portion with the neck of the bottle.

Abstract: An inner auxiliary mixing bowl having an upwardly extending tubular post is removably nested within the outer mixing bowl of a food processor. The tubular post of the inner bowl is tapered with the upper, smaller end thereof being positioned closely about the uppermost end of the shaft and adjacent to the underside of the cutting tool that is driven by the motor of the food processor. Thus, the likelihood of the processed food passing between the inner surface of the tubular post and the outer surface of the driven shaft is minimized. This thereby reduces the likelihood of contamination of the interior of the motor by the processed food. The inner mixing bowl is made of a plastic material that permits it to be heated and frozen thereby vastly increasing its utility. In addition, a removable cover is provided for the inner mixing bowl so that the content thereof may be readily transported.
